Jet lag does not set in until two days after the departure. It really did effect LSU on Saturday after arriving late Thursday. Those fans who do not beleive this are stupid.

I dont doubt that jet lag mightve had an effect. How did the fans who went feel by the third quarter? Were they tired? It doesnt mean much, I'm just curious.

I think thats saying something we don't want said. There are plenty of other teams that man up and do it. Udub has to come here and they probably don't have a player on the squad that knows what our weather is like...much less be able to handle the humidity. I think we should schedule one or two teams from BCS schools every season OOC.

Depends on the reasoning. From a fan watching from home perspective, the 9:30pm CT kickoff is terrible.

To my knowledge, we have only played twice on the West Coast...against USC in 1984 (23-3 LSU win) and last weekend. So, we have a 2-0 record.

I would love to play USC, UCLA or Oregon at their places...just not at 9:30pm CT.

Agreed, I've gone to Cali multiple times. Most of those were for a week or longer. I never got used to the time change the entire time and was tired throughout.

This phenomenon of jet lag for a 3 hour flight and a two hour time change is absurd. I travel regularly and have never experienced jet lag after a flight to the continental U.S. or even Alaska.

I think it's a convenient excuse for the lackluster showing on Saturday.

Would you count playing Arizona and Arizona St on the road as west coast games?

We need to insist on a 3pm start time next time and it will be fine.

That's horrible if true.

I think we should man up and set up a series with the USC Trojans.

Travel often and it wears me out frankly. Everyone's body is different and reacts to things differently, doesn't mean it did or didn't happen in this case. But some just want to bitch

If the Tigers were playing in Europe two days after arriving I could understand this argument but not the United States West Coast.

The defense looked flat in the first half when they shouldn't have been that exhausted b/c of the time change difference.

The terrible play had nothing to do with the time change, IMO.

so if we go to State and give up 400 yards, will Les vow to never travel outside of Louisiana for a game again?

What has beating the Pac-10 consistently gotten us? Does the west coast suddenly respect us for going out there and beating them? Not really.

The logisitical negatives don't outweigh the positives. Though LSU should still shcedule more good OOC teams. But we've done the Pac-10 thing. Let's go beat some ACC or Big 10 teams for awhile.

Or bring back A&M. We should play them every year in addition to one other BCS team that is a draw.

I think it's a bad blanket statement. It's fair to say the 9:30 PM kickoff time was way too late for the LSU fans though.

If they were to play a west coast team at a reasonable hour with direct flights there and back? I think LSU should be open to that tho - not any real difference between doing that and florida playing in arkansas (for example) I think

Big deal. How many west coast trips has LSU made? EVER? Including Bowl games? cant be more than a handful. Last one i remember was USC in '83 and that was an afternoon game at least.

I understand people want the possibility of playing teams like SC, Cal, UW, UCLA etc in the future. But if it's not gonna be an afternoon game, Id also say screw em.

A home/away game with Michigan would be pretty cool right now.
I would love to see this...also if the west coast game with USC was an afternoon game, I would be all in favor of this too.

So I guess it means more Tulane, ULM, ULL, La Tech, and maybe a home and home with SELU on the schedule in the following years.

Apparently the traveling was harder on the guys than any of us are understanding.

I am willing to bet that all of the ones saying that "just" those two time zones don't make a difference (especially in the evening) has never made a similar trip.
