I am an infrequent poster but visit the site religiously. I am extremely sorry for the loss of your beloved wife. I hope the generosity of strangers will lift your spirits and make you realize that you and your children are cared about more than you know. Be strong for your children despite your heavy heart.
Looks like the intersection of Walker and Caroline streets downtown about two blocks from the Discovery Green where all of the protests are originating from and eventually spilling out across downtown.

re: HDMI ports/ digital board

Thanks for the feedback. I actually don't recall when we bought this tv but it's probably more than a few years old. It looks as though LG has discontinued the model. For $35 or so, it's probably worth a shot.

I haven't tried the component input as I would have to rummage for any equipment with those cables. I presume the component inputs would not recognize either if the whole board is bad?

Glad to hear that the replacement wasn't too difficult.

HDMI ports/ digital board

We have a several year old LG tv that is now failing to recognize the signal from any of the HDMI ports. I have tried various inputs (reciever boxes, firestick) and still receive "no signal." Does anyone have any experience replacing digital boards or have any other potential solutions besides buying a new television? The picture is still great so a relatively inexpensive repair would be preferable. Thanks

re: Any Griddy users out there?

We are with Conserve Energy and they basically manage our utility contract using this same approach. We usually pay in the 8 - 8.5 per kwh range for the various contracts we are placed in. For the minimal monthly charge, it's been well worth the expense compared to the savings achieved. Griddy requires far too much consumer involvement to be a fit for us.

'93 Saints print

Posted by LSUTexan78 on 8/13/19 at 9:24 pm
Can anyone remember the origin / artist of the 1993 (approximately) Saints print with the Dome Patrol less Swilling plus Turnbull. I came across it in a closet but dont recall its origin. I had it signed by Mills and Turnbull back in the day but dont remember if this print was a season ticket holder giveaway etc. Black backdrop with helmet upper left corner and Jackson most prominently displayed in the center wearing home white 57. Thanks in advance.

I've never seen the appeal of these outdoor mall/town centers over the traditional mall

1. Easier parking - quick access to the store(s) you wish to visit
2. No food court & no entertainment, and usually no movie theatre = less teenagers & undesirables meandering about with no intention of spending money

Beer, wine and soda as well.

CVS has pretty large square footage footprints to begin start removing unhealthy products from their shelves. Perhaps they're planning to replace these items with consumer goods that shoppers can purchase for reduced prices at the likes of Wal-Mart, Costco etc.

I am sure most of the new buildings they occupy have long term leases. Perhaps they should have considered these square footage issues if they envision themselves becoming a European style pharmacy that sells prescriptions from 800 square foot store fronts.
The group mainly consists of older alumni that have been with the group for many years. There has been a small infusion of young professionals over the years as the board has improved communication to its members. The majority of the group have a background in geology & engineering with a respectable percentage in financial services and law.

It's only $40 membership that includes four annual luncheons (two downtown & two on the north beltway). The February luncheon is the most heavily attended b/c they bring in Sam Nader to discuss the recent football signing class. The other speakers usually are representatives from the various schools at LSU (engineering, law school etc).

It's a worthwhile group and I would recommend joining but it's definitely not a big social group that rivals the alumni association.
I bought in around .40 a share after hearing of them through the national eagles and angels association. They have a solid management group with a lot of history in the industry.

They exited their R&D phase last year and have begun filling large orders. Zacks research recently issued a price projection of .90 a share for 2014 as sales are projected to exceed $4M. They are also going to work towards a NASDAQ listing in the near term.

TASER was once an OTC stock and now trades at $18. Investors are hoping for the same eventual progression b/c of the management group at GRDH.

Agreed. Most 529 plans also offer somewhat limited investment options and their funds charge fairly exorbitant fees. They are great investment vehicles for putting your contributions on auto-pilot but don't expect great returns. A mixture of 529 and UGMA investing would be advisable.

Interesting "micro-cap" I purchased earlier in the year at .40 cents a share. They are gaining a lot of traction in the security industry. GRDH

Take a look at PROP. Houston based OTC play trading around .65 a share. They hold the exclusive North American rights to a technology that has already proven successful in Europe and China. The technology reinvigorates wells with stagnant production without introducing any liquids into the well that could draw the ire of the EPA. The Company is backed by some deep pockets and just recently added the President of EPG as a director which should help bolster their name recognition and marketability to additional investors and producers.

FYI - I have no stake in the Company aside from my personal investment.
