We couldn't stay healthy past week 2.

I'm an optimist. The silver lining of having key players out is that our depth gets real live experience (and not in garbage time). That should help but it assumes at some point you get these guys back and they don't get reinjured.

When has Rashard Lawrence played more than 2 or 3 games without injury?

Chaisson has all of the ability in the world except for availability.

Logan's injury may be more serious than we know. He was on a scooter for the NW State game.

Ika has been held out for undisclosed reasons.

Now Divinity is out for several weeks.

We play Florida in 13 days. Their only key injury (to Franks) resulted in an upgrade at QB. I really hope Auburn and Florida beat the piss out of each other this weekend, but we will be undermanned on defense against the Gators.

Not saying the sky is falling. But there is cause for concern. The CFP Committee is not going to give us a pass if we lose to UF because Logan, Divinity and others don't play.

No one in the SECw has a real dominant defense imo

Georgia has the best defense in the league but I saw bama give up almost 500 yards to Ole Miss yesterday.

Auburn has a good front 7 but suspect DBs and A&M = lol

Nope. You just made another of your stupid comments. What I said was 100% factual. Vandy and Moo State have the best running backs in the SEC, yet neither have done their team much good. Why? Because they have zero passing game. We have a great passing game, our running game is average. There is zero reason to change it as the person I was responding to suggested.

OP has a solid point. Obviously, many opf you disagree. Make a legit rebuttal if you're brave enough.
Reverse order to get to the most important point..

3. While admittedly not looking great, the D is putting up good statistical number in some areas. Such as passes defended and opponents comp%. This while most of what pass rush we have is on the sidelines. To do that with little pass rush gives hope. If the big plays due to broken tackles and assignments is cleaned up, this D while not elite look a lot better. Even giving up lots of points we still show our talent on D. 7 of 8 plays in 2 goal line stands against Texas; people forget the 3-out in that game just before half after Herman's desperate timeout. If the D doesn't stop them there you're looking at a possible 14 point swing.

2. Running game isn't shabby. However, we're running RPOs 30% of the time and that number is increasing. If the D is dictating pass on those, so be it. Seems to work pretty good. Both the % RPOs run and very likely the D reads will change as we get in the teeth of the SEC. The run game will improve not out of necessity, but out of opportunity.

1. We use to use 50 min of game time to 'setup' the last 10. Whether we won or lost often came down to some tired players, 90% of the time defenders because our offense were 3-n-out specialists after 3 qtrs of opponent adjustments, to decide the game. It came down to a couple of minutes and a couple of plays. Yeldon's screen, Guice running to the wrong gap, missed/made FGs, terrirble looking 4 min drives (Wisc) that lasted a couple plays and an INT. Not this time. If we can put a team away, we do. We attack for 4 qtrs. And if we can't put them away (Texas) we damn sure keep the pressure on them. Used to it was incumbent on US not to make mistakes and lose the game. With that pressure on opponents, we're in a safety net of sort with our own mistakes AND turn theirs into points.

"Stay healthy"? OMG, are you unawarte of our injury list right NOW? We get into conference play and we will see more go down - just the way it is.

We're 4-0, with a top offense, avg defense and people are still melting. Pathetic...

Wait, so LSU’s running game is average, but there is no reason to change it despite the 2 more talented players barely playing?

Back off from the cliff.....I happen to agree with all of the problems you cited. I do however feel that LSU will step up the intensity as we go along.
The online and Dline to me will have trouble matching the physicality of at least two sec opponents. That spells trouble. We'll see. Should be fun.

On I think the OP is full of shite, disagree with him.

However, I can prove you're full of shite.

2019 defense-68 snaps/game

2018 defense-70 snaps/game

On this one I agree with you LE. We should be seeing more of the two freshmen RBs.

Now 4 games has always been sort of a magic number for freshmen. Been that way forever it seems. From Ricky Watters at ND as a frosh, to LF7 as a frosh, and no Bo Nix in his game this weekend... it always, don't know why, seems to take 4 games for a freshmen to get into the flow (offense that is). Even though I can't explain the why, I bet you we start to see significant touches and 'near full integration' now. Bye week was perfectly timed too by the way.

I wish we had seen more touches up to now for Emery and TDP. But worth note, we saw TDP in passing situations both running routes and in passpro. That tells me they are actively and consciously trying to integrate them more. Which we do direly need.

The only games we saw the defense healthy was the first game and a half.
And they shutdown the triple option offense that everyone said was gonna put up a good amount of points just not enough to win. They put up 3. And minus like the first 2 drives of the Texas game they shut them down that first half. Then the injuries and cramps all started hitting the 2nd half and we havent seen the healthy defense since.
They're gonna get several key players back for SEC play. This defense can still be good. They've showed it in the little bit they were healthy.

They'll get Ingram back in the lineup and hopefully Emery and TDP will have enough experience to be able to come in more often to give us elite level athletes come in at the RB position.

I've said it before on here and I'll say it again, I do feel like the better SEC defenses can slow the offense down but at the same when that happens I'm betting the defense is able to step up. With how much the offense scores the defense hasn't been in a place where they NEED to make those stops cause they're normally multiple scores ahead anyway. Once games go into shootouts theres a reason even good defenses look like they disappear. Theres a reason Saban was talking about scoring too fast and not controlling the game.
