As a booster to LSU and a former donor to this Governor, I have sent emails.
This is NOT COOL!
If it's torture to have Mike in the stadium, which I agree with, then it's torture to send some other poor tiger in there.
Mike is treated like royalty. As he should be. This rescue does not have such a life. Does that make it ok to treat him less? Shameful.

You just nailed the biggest problem with all of this for LSU.
If I wanted to write a hit piece on LSU, I would say something along the lines of “LSU knows that going inside the stadium is bad for their tiger. So they paid to abuse someone else’s tiger instead.” The optics are awful. Worse, IMO, than the optics of actually putting Mike in the stadium.
It’s so obvious that it makes me question whether this is even real. I don’t see how it’s worth the bad PR for anyone involved.
