I'm not disagreeing with you, but it's hard to say he isn't going to have wasted a lot of potential. He was just getting warmed up. Dead serious the dude could have won four heismans in the next two years.

3. RP

Any list that isnt in that order is wrong.

I think an argument could be made for RP at #2. His shenanigans cost the program more than the loss of TM will and he probably had a better chance in the NFL due to TM's size.

Cecil only played 4 games for LSU. TM7 was a Heisman finalist and Bednarik winner. RP was the MVP of the SECCG. Collins was just a stud in 4 regular season games.I think the list should be:

1. Matthieu
2. RP
3. Collins

Collins by far, TM7 had one good year and one phenomenal year. Thing is the NFL will still take a chance on TM7 with the list of thugs they have in that league, bottom line if he can play he will play in the league.

I think DBU has already recovered. The freshman we've had this season, mixed with the ones coming in next year, and the potential for the year after that. I don't think DBU is going away anytime soon.

Did Tim Pope get kicked off the team or did his troubles start after he was finished at LSU.

All you younger people or newer fans...type Cecil Collins into the You Tube search and watch. That dude played 3 or 4 games i think and he is a legend for his pure ability and his complete uselessness as a human being.

I'm surprised no one has said Jamie Howard. :) (Yes i'm kidding)

So, where do y'all think TM7 lands on the list of all time wastes of talent to suit up for the purple and gold, any sport?

He didn't waste his talent when he suited up....he was probably one of the top 10 players at LSU all-time when he was "suited-up" it was when he wasn't suited that he screwed up his chances to play football.

I said it before....it doesn't matter how fast you are, sometimes your demons are faster. His obviously are.

Hindsight, he should've gone to McNeese and gotten away from BR.

Hopefully he will eventually get his life straight. I am pulling for him. We all have flaws, but once a tiger, always a tiger.

I remember there was a kid way back in '79 that was a freshman qb - started several games as a true freshman. He came in from Istruma high in BR. Best qb in high school in the area, I cannot remember his name. ANYWAY - got a girl pregnant and dropped out of school. Biggest waste of talent that I saw personally.

He played 2 full years at LSU and got us to a title game, hardly a waste of talent. Russell Shepard has been a waste of talent.

I am trying to remember his name, Mitchell for some reason rings a bell. He would have graduated hs in '78, played alot in '79 and was the first on the depth chart then? Way to many years ago for me.

Shepard is wasted talent. We failed shepard.
TM7 is NOT wasted talent. He failed himself and everyone else.

Maybe "Mike Miley" - started in '73 and went early to MLB.
