Meh

I guess they didn't want LSU/Alabama to overshadow the ND/Miami game.

Miami will roll those bums.

so at some point in the 2nd half it will become a night game

When the stadium announcer asks for everyone's attention and notes "The sun has now found it's home in the Western sky and it is now Saturday night Tiger Stadium", you can just feel the place change. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

What if anything does this mean for the Texas game? Does this mean we should play Texas at night or no?

I hate the vulgar chants by the student section, but hopefully they will get a FU Sankey chant going sometime during the game.

I thought we all agreed that we play better at 11am?

I imagine this sets us up for a night game against Texas.
2:30 in November against Bama isn’t awful. The fans will be ready

But yet so many on here are happy about it being a day game? So odd how this fan base has changed. There is nothing like Saturday night in Death Valley. Guess they want Texas to be a day game also.

Or maybe we're just not making excuses? Can't do anything about it. Stop being soft.

The opposite. Competing networks. ND / Miami was already set for night, ESPN wants all eyeballs they can get for LSU / Bama, which over the last 20 years is one of the biggest draws in the sport in the regular season.

They sacrificed Ole Miss / UGA.

Like it or not, Miami / ND will have huge viewership numbers nationally especially if it's competitive.

I’d say moreso risky. They’re assuming that neither ole Miss nor Georgia will lose this week. Our league is crazy.

Agreed. And the start time of the game is irrelevant to that statement.

Does it? That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Maybe more fans will stay so they don't have to "beat the traffic" to not be home too late.

That’s exactly what I was going to say. This game being at 2:30 means they are prioritizing it to get the best possible ratings.

This is how I see it. They didn’t want the game to split an audience with ND/Miami, so they sacrificed the Ole Miss/UGA game for that time slot. Seems pretty logical for ABC/ESPN to me.
