In the OLOL case, LSU apparently wants to speak out about it but was asked not to by investigators.
The OLOL case is not an NCAA compliance issue but an active criminal investigation.

Nobody involved should be talking to the press during an ongoing criminal investigation.

Come on, you see it.

LSU calls in Wade to discuss allegations and invites NCAA along for the meeting just for kicks. Wade asks for an attorney present and to limit the scope of questions because the situation is an ongoing legal matter. LSU says, “Nah” and suspends him.

The very same day, it’s reporte that a forensic audit of OLOL uncovered 2 items that they reported to LSU legal and LSU’s response is that they will not release any further info beyond their limited statement because the situation is an ongoing legal matter.

WW got suspended by LSU because he took the advice of counsel.

The hypocrisy of condemning Wade for the exact same thing.

If Wade's lawyers read this board, they are getting everything they need here to get him the money in his contract on his way to a university with a solid administration.

Sabin hired Collin's side piece. He also hired Ish's dad's buddy and former high school coach.

Here's an explanation - people are stupid.

In one case, LSU is saying they won't make public specific comments due to pending legal issues.

In the other case, LSU wants to privately talk to their coach.

People are trying to say that LSU is being hypocritical, when it's two completely different situations.

Everyone saying it is hypocritical of LSU to say this is missing the point. It is not the same thing.

LSU is not commenting further to the public because there is an ongoing investigation. Wade was suspended for not discussing with his employer.

Regarding the Wade situation, LSU has to protect its interests. And that obligation kicked in when Wade would not speak with them.

If a third party (the NCAA) is brought in, it's no longer private though.

Both are being advised by legal counsel not to comment on on-going criminal investigations.

That's good legal advice for both.

But one party is penalizing the other for doing the same thing they are doing.

This is not that complicated.

So you are saying because will Wade is under investigation which "prevents" him from speaking to LSU, he should still be able to coach

LSU may be named as a defendant/conspirator in an ongoing criminal investigation in the OLOL case.

Wade is a "person of interest" (for lack of a better term) in an NCAA compliance issue that's not even a formal NCAA investigation yet.

Apples and oranges, IMO.

If it is tangentially similar it's sure not "breathtaking" in similarity.

No it's not the same thing.
In one case LSU is working with the NCAA after being made aware.
In the other LSU is trying to gather information. There has been no "condemnation" of Wade. Wade is not cooperating. LSU is withholding him until he can cooperation.
