I have a hard time seeing SMU turn down the revenue from an additional 30k in ticket sales from it being at AT&T Stadium, but if they want the crowd advantage maybe they'll keep it on campus. I have no doubt we could still take over a good bit of their stadium, but it would be a lot harder than AT&T where best case for SMU it's going to be a 50-50 fan split.
I'm pretty sure TCU has a larger fan base in the DFW area and it was about a 60-40 fan split in our favor when we played them at AT&T in 2013.

in addition to TV revenue if it is a neutral site game

What's the difference if LSU played in a 35k stadium?
No one is saying that it can't happen. Some people just would rather it be at AT&T Stadium. If you asked Ole Miss players and fans I wonder if they would say that they would have rather played in the Superdome...

If the game happens to be played at Cowboys stadium, you, me, and everyone else knows damn welll lsu will sell 25k tickets, SMU 15k, and the stadium would be less than half full. Jerry ain't wasting his time with that.
This simply isn't true and there is historical data to back it up.

what? LSU has made incredible money playing in Dallas for neutral site games. it's quite literally why schools do it.

That just doesn't feel true. Oregon, TCU had to of easily been 103+ each time. I remember walking up for Oregon, and the reflection off Jerry World was straight baking anyone.

They make money, but what's in it for the fans? Would you rather Lsu play at Clemson and go to Death Valley Jr, or go to Atlanta for the game? These neutral site games are retarded and is nothing but a money grab for the institutions. Playing in Lambeau was different because its Lambeau. I'd rather a go to an on campus stadium 100/100 times than Orlando or Houston. Better experience all together.

Interesting
Would prefer we do one with either Miami or Notre Dame like we did in the 80s but SMU with where they're at presently is compelling

LSU SMU will be very similar to LSU TCU in attendance. I was at the game in Jerry World, and it was at least 85% to 90% full.

From a fan perspective, I think it would be cool to attend the game at SMU. I’ve been to their stadium before and there’s not a bad seat in the house. At Cowboys stadium, I feel like I’m in the rafters sometimes.

Ehh. Yeah there isn’t much parking but you can park other places and uber or take the train.

Hoping SMU expands their stadium by then & LSU gets a good number of tickets.
Otherwise, a night game at JerryWorld gives us average fans a shot at a seat.
Day game at Cotton Bowl would be brutal hot, nighttime parking in Fair Park would be brutal dangerous.
Also, anyone believing SMU “needs” money from these games is delusional. They probably have as many billionaire donors as any private school.
In 2023 they raised $100 million for their ACC entry alone…in only 7 days.

Verge has already shown off his LACK of any skills in negotiating ! It's very difficult for me to trust him in any such endeavor. Hopefully, Woodward is now fully supervising him !

SMU is definitely one of the richest teams in the country. They could buy their way into the SEC if the opportunity arises

Reminds me of the time we played TCU as our awesome "big opponent non-conference". I find myself asking "why?". Give the people what they want and schedule a home and away with Ohio State, Michigan or Penn State. I could also dig a trip to Eugene, Oregon. Neutral site should be a thing of the past.
