I don’t want that game at Jerry World. It’s not a home/home then. Play it at Ford or Cotton Bowl.

Don't look at this as a home/home. Look at it like SMU is playing in BR one year, then we have a neutral site game to open the following year.

We’ll need to cut one from 2029 if the SEC moves to a 9 game conference schedule.

45 min-hour drive to stadium and still get swampass tailgating on open asphalt parking lots. Give me downtown or near campus and something more than Texas Live.

So is the Superdome at 72 degrees preferable to Tiger Stadium as well?

In the NIL era, this will be a tough opponent. SMU is buying players.

Cotton Bowl works too, closer to SMU. We have not played there since 1963.

Saban got us into the Cotton Bowl.
Texas beat us.

If Cotton Bowl is good enough for OU/Texas, we can play in it.

This is badass. Sure SMU’s stadium isn’t huge but it’s a traditional on campus stadium with excellent tailgating options. Hell for all we know by 2029, SMU might have expanded their stadium.

Regardless it will be a hard ticket for LSU fans. People already complaining about it being SMU are dipshits. They are a good program and worthy of a matchup with LSU. P4 program too.

frick Jerry world. If it’s too hot for yall in September stay your asses at home. BR is not much different temperature wise.

This will be the biggest home game SMU has hosted in a very long time. Unless they get a top 10 ACC matchup before then. Which is possible I suppose

Honestly this is a great season opener. It's a good enough team that it makes week 1 exciting and interesting and may even help our resume a touch with a decent out of conference opponent, but at the same time it is not some top 10 opponent that could de-rail our season week 1 like FSU/USC/Clemson.

LSU played Texas in 2003 Cotton Bowl in the Cotton Bowl stadium

I went to LSU vs Miami that was played there . Probably my favorite experience to an away game. We had such a good time , Arlington is a great city

Gross. Tired of not seeing LSU play true home & home series.

What is wrong with having the SMU home game at Jerryworld? LSU gets the best of both worlds a home P4 contest in Tiger Stadium the first year of the series and a game at Jerryworld the second year. SMU will probably want to have the game at Jerryworld or the Cotton Bowl because then they could sell over 70,000 tickets compared to 32,000 tickets. With SMU not receiving tv money from the ACC they will need to maximize all their revenue opportunities.

SMU is NOT gonna give up their advantage by playing a home game in Arlington. If that game was in JerryWorld, at least half the fans would be LSU fans. On campus, 80% of the fans would be SMU fans.

Because Arlington sucks and it’s not a home game for SMU.
