The Dolphins shouldn’t have played Tua again though.

It was a story, and a big deal.

Maybe you need to research the type of brain cancer GBJr has and what prognosis and survival rate is.

There are many illnesses that have the same symptoms and for a seemingly healthy person (i.e. athlete) you wouldn't think that vertigo would be brain cancer.

This lawsuit is for money to keep him in medical care for however long his life may last.

I'm incredibly disappointed in this thread. The OP went out of his way to tell you he was having breakfast this morning in London, but everyone ignored it. Silly people just talking about LSU football and concessions to the starting quarterback.....

Lol maybe you need to research Brooks’ claims of being forced to practice even though he said he was sick. Maybe it’s a BS lawsuit. Who knows, but you don’t know anymore than I do, so take your own advice missy.

However, ESPN's broadcast captured a member of the team's medical staff conducting a bizarre test on the 22-year-old.

The Tigers staffer could be seen moving his index finger up and down for Nussmeier to follow it with his eyes, before appearing to make him stand on one leg with his eyes closed
That's not "bizarre."

Yeah, not bizarre by any definition of the word

Archaic, outdated, elementary - sure. But not bizarre

Nah, they still test cranial nerves 3, 4 and 6 like that. We didn't see everything they did though.

And, as part of the SCAT6

Coordination & oculomotor screen

Why not? He got cleared and wants to play.

Chris Nowinski is doing the Lord's work

It’s important research to do but CTE is still a bit controversial in the scientific community with differing opinions on the severity and impact of repeated concussions. Nowinski is quite passionate about his views though his research has a lot of limitations and inherent biases. More research with good study designs needs to be done before any sweeping generalizations can be made.

I’ll grant you “elementary” but what alternative is there on the sideline, assuming the goal is to give someone who was walking fine and probably speaking fine an exam before returning to the game?

To be clear, the Tua question refers to injuries he received during the 2022 season. The Dolphins allowed him to play when he shouldn't have.

It was very clear that he was affected by the first concussion way more than he thought. He played the next game and was a space cadet all the way through. He then went back under the protocol and missed several games.

His case of receiving two concussions in two straight games led to the NFL adjusting its concussion protocol by giving the independent neurologist more power to sideline a player.

TV only got us a small window into the protocol Saturday. One thing to recall, Jaden Daniels vs Alabama was allowed to try to enter the game after a concussion injury. It was a bizarre moment.

I think everything about this is totally wrong and nuss actually had a finger in the eye and he was being checked for vision after an eye poke, not a concussion.

the docs on staff know what they are doing.
