Numerous Ohio St fans think LSU signed the best QB at Ohio St, here's an example of one such fan -

"Here’s the thing. I am in no way certain that he (Joe) didn’t beat out Haskins. When I watched the spring game this year, what I saw was Joe Burrow with a better command of the offense, better decision making and better leadership. And the throws he made were not that much more insignificant than Haskins’. You just don’t get beat out all camp and then make that kind of leap for one spring game. Meyer has a hardon for Haskins. Joe loses."

What this Ohio fan saw was a QB (Joe) who had the better command, better decision making, and better leadership, what he saw was a QB getting beat all camp by Burrow yet still was given the no.1 nod, what he saw was favoritism by Urban Meyer, LSU got Ohio St's best QB.

And when one of our QB's transfer out I'm sure we'll have people claim that they should have started over Burrow.

After seeing Cardale Jones, their 3rd string QB, beat Alabama, I'm convinced their 7th string is at par with our starter.

Glad to take Joe.

Happy we signed Burrow, but Haskins will be a very good QB.

I wonder why head football coaches are willing to risk their jobs by not playing the best players especially quarterbacks?

I get what you're saying but that doesn't mean that he isn't good or won't be an upgrade over what we have currently

Yall don't find that meme extremely overused?

I mean I can see how it is fitting as a response to certain things, but it doesn't exactly apply all the time..

Your point was pretty straight forward and easy to understand

I think Joe wanted to be told he won the job in the spring and if not he was going to explore his options.

He definitely could have won it in the fall but it’s a big risk to take when you only have 2 years left.

Then why did your comment not reflect what my point was?

My point was college fan bases are delusional always thinking they know which players are more qualified to be starters than the coaches. It had nothing to do with Burrow vs Brennan at LSU.

I think it more to do with the different attributes and what the HC wants to do with the offense rather than one being better than the other. OSU’s spring game stats were clearly in Burrow’s favor; but, I guess Meyer wants the better legs QB.

It did

He obviously wasn't the best QB on their team but that doesn't mean that he can't add value here.

Of course. If he is the best QB on the roster there is no way Meyer would let him go
