LSU opened Pandora’s box by inviting the NCAA in the first place. The NCAA doesn’t do shite without officially investigating, which takes months or years and has no subpoena power. The only way they can get involved at this stage is if you let them in.

Now you can’t kick them out of the proceedings bc they’ll assume you’re trying to hide something.

“We’re going to handle it internally” has been shown time and time and time and time again to be the best way to handle anything like this

You are honestly saying the LSU admin has made the right moves from both a PR and NCAA standpoint here?

You cant truly believe that. Its impossible

Probably so, but wouldn't it be prudent to let this play out.

I know attorney's never leak false information. And I know reporters never report things in such a way that they are sensationalized.

I know the kids wearing the MAGA hats in DC were guilty. I know Jussie Smollet was attacked by racists.

I am sure Pat Forde is 100% correct this time.

Tar and Feather Wade, no due process allowed.

Why does LSU need him to deny wrongdoing? Do they randomly require their employees to confirm they haven't done anything wrong... even when there is no evidence they have.

As long as Alleva and F(ucking idiot) King are employed by LSU, I’ll never spend a dime on LSU athletics.

That's why the compliance department needs an overhaul. They're too myopic to understand that they're hurting more than they're helping.

And that they have a vendetta against the coach in question.

You think the NCAA just showed up on their own, and that LSU is just now releasing this info today?

pride doesn't think you're that stupid, but I'm not convinced.

He should just resign today.

Nope. Make them fire you. And when it is all done and no charges by the FBI or the NCAA ever come to pass the administration will look like the biggest idiots on the planet for firing a head coach that finally has the program winning. And fired without proof of anything.

Highly unlikely. Commissioners, both publicly and privately, have made it abundantly clear the NCAA won’t act until the trials are over. Essentially delaying the inevitable
My question is: Why couldn't LSU take the same position and strategy and not act until the relevant trials are over? At a minimum until Wade's testimony, IF he even gets called to testify, is over.

The NCAA requested they be present.

That is not an invitation by LSU.

Let's talk about exactly what should have been done:

A press release from LSU after the wire tap releases that says "LSU's administration and Will Wade are working together to investigate these reports and get to the bottom of the situation. We intend to cooperate fully with any future inquiries from the NCAA or Southeastern Conference. We ask that the public be patient and wait for the investigation to unfold. In the meantime, we will be fully supporting our student-athletes on this basketball team as they compete in the post-season."

And then wait for a bigger headline to make this blow over. Then deal with an investigation down the road.

This would require competent leadership in the administration. We will never have that with the current admin.

The AD, Wade, and BOS could've easily had a conversation before this meeting was supposed to take place. And LSU could have put it off for a few weeks.

so
fricking
simple

You could have even gone on the aggressive more, and put the media in a corner. Start it with this

"As I have learned from my past mistakes at Duke, relying on media reports to make decisions can and does ruin lives of innocent people."
