What they neglect to mention is there have been heaps of scholarly articles about coronaviruses being studied for years now, we did not start from scratch. It was this strain (and now variants) that were new. On top of that, the entire fricking world was impacted so there was an unprecedented amount of resources thrown to the global scientific community to help with research and expedite the vaccine. There’s been months now of data to show its impact and the hospitalizations among the unvaxxed are now rising. I’m not sure what else is needed. I really don’t give a shite if you don’t trust the government, I really don’t either. I do, however, trust virology experts and scientists that have dedicated their lives to solving such problems to figure it out.
Good on LSU for making the hard but only sensible choice to save people from their own hubris. We are living in Idiocracy right now.

I work in a local hospital that has had to shut down all non emergent/Covid activity due to the viral resurgence.

It slows it. But yes you can still get COVID if you are vaccinated. Importantly, you are far less likely to have a serious case, namely one that would necessitate emergency or intensive care if you are vaccinated.

A PCR test really doesn’t prove if you do or don’t have it. So inaccurate. The CDC has even said it can’t detect between flu or covid. So dumb.
