SEC snobs have become the dregs of the college football world. It's so old listening to the tired arguments. Accordingly, why don't we just declare the SEC champion the MNC every year. Or maybe we can swear the BCS is legitimate because it does what it's designed to do: Put an SEC team in the BCS championship.

Agree. As much of ans SEC fan as I am, it it just not so. The SEC is good, but other conferences are playing just as well. The PAC 10 has some great teams this year. IMO, the SEC is just not that good from top to bottom this year.

It is an LSU message board.

I've been for a playoff for years. It would get rid of all the arguments about conference strength and add a bunch of good football games.

Oregon is a good team and should be ranked higher, but saying that Oregon would spank LSU is stretch. As for people questioning the dominance of the SEC, I'd just like to point out that it happens every year ... once we get into our SEC games. You can't judge the relative strength of conferences when two teams from the same conference are playing. As it stands now, the SEC champ has manhandled the best of the rest in 4 of the last 6 championship games (and we weren't invited to the other two). Until they knock us off our perch, the SEC is king and the SEC champ should be in the MNC game.

TCU vs Florida National Championship game

Why are you on this board? To talk shite when we beat Rice in the super regional... again? TCU won't be playing for the championship.

WTH do you base this on? OOC, SEC teams have lost to UCLA, Ok State, GTech, Houston - that's it. PAC 10 teams have lost to Boise State, Iowa, Wake Forest, Cincy, Georgia, ND, and Hawaii. Get real. Just because SEC teams beat each other up doesn't weaken the conference - it strengthens it.

The PAC 10 has Oregon as their best team, a team that lost to Boise St, who has a schedule riddled with underwhelming teams ( after Oregon, one in the 30s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, rest in the 100+ ranking range ). USC slobbed on Ohio St who's lost to Purdue and barely hung on vs a military team.

The SEC, meanwhile, has UF, Bama, LSU and a slew of teams beating each up ( Arky, Ole Miss, Auburn, SC, UT, UGA ).

The whole "the SEC is down this year" is as ignorant as it was last year, where the SEC proved it was by far the best conference again in the bowl games. To quote Famil Guy, you sound like a 'self hating Jew'.

USC has a down year and all of a sudden the rest of the Pac 10 got much better. REALLY??? I think this is more just a down year across college football than anything else. LSU, Florida, and Bama are all ok but none of them could come close to the last 3 years in the conference. Oregon is a good team but they got handled by Boise State. Cinci may be the best team in college this year and we'll never get to see them play anyone outside of Pitt.

Texas plays a terrible schedule and should go unbeaten.
Iowa plays a terrible schedule and should go unbeaten.
LSU, Alabama, and Florida have looked less than dominant most of the year. If Alabama wins this week, Alabama and Florida will most likely meet up as 2 unbeaten teams with the winner walking into the BCS NC game.
Boise(Oregon), TCU (Clemson and Utah), and Cinci (Oregon State and Pitt) play hardly anyone.

If anyone thinks they know for a fact who the best team is this year they are nuts.

USC will have to lose 8 games to fall out of the top 25. They got bum rushed yesterday and barely fall at all.

The winner of the sec (if they have zero or one loss) will go to the title game on credibility alone. The last 10 years have shown the sec to perform very well in the bcs games.

Oregon will lose another game, possibly Stanford this coming Saturday.

If Oregon loses one, it will probably be in the Civil War against Oregon State. They have a habit of dropping that one when they're favored.

Based on their play against a slightly above average USC team (great talent, but let's face it, they aren't what they usually are).

I'll take the top tier of the SEC against Oregon any day.

Oregon looks good, but I think USC is seriously overrated, especially on defense. Oregon's victory over USC is not as impressive of a victory as LSU beating Bama would be.

This.

Endless bullshite aside: It's all about the Bama game.

I suspect it does get old, especially to a Washington State fan.

Who in the Pac-10 is that good?? Oregon, yes they are very, very good. Who else is really good in the Pac-10? USC certainly isn't the USC we're used to seeing. Oregon State got drummed by Cincinnati, Washington is not really that good as a whole, they will be better in a year or two. Stanford? Who have they beaten? Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA? Cal, please! No one in the Pac-10 is impressive outside of Oregon, no one.

it is tough to bitch too badly that we're the second-ranked one loss team...

however i imagine we'll be bitching some next sunday... the tide will not tumble from the top ten should we defeat them - so wtf... are we eight next week behind a one-loss oregon and bama ranked a #9 just behind us.

of course more losses in the top ten will happen but the week-to-week rankings have been annoying for Tiger fans for weeks.

Seems like folks are penalizing LSU for their game against Florida when our offense stunk.

If any team in the top twenty outside the SEC had LSU's schedule, you would see at least two losses on their record. Its easy getting jacked up to play 2-3 games a year. Not so much getting up for 8-9. Yes Any team can be beaten on any given night and when you play in the SEC,its gonna happen. And im not a big Tiger Fan. But i know SEC football compares to none! Speed baby!
