Doesn't the AP know that many of those teams are not even playing football this year?

LSU fans just don’t understand that losing so many players PLUS a record setting QB should effect their ranking. Bash me all you want but it’s a gift that LSU is #6 esp having a starting QB who has not even had a meaningful snap the whole time he has been here.

Lol, then why do they do a preseason poll in the first place?

Don’t have any issue with this. We lost a ton of talent from a historically great 2019 team. I’m fine with them slotting OU in ahead of us given Riley has shown that he can insert a new QB the last three years and continue right where they left off the season before.

I actually do think Georgia will have a good squad this year though.

It will be good until they shite the bed against at least one team in the east. Then lose the SEC Championship. Then make it to the Sugar/Cotton/Citrus and end the year ranked 5th.

Then next year they'll start off 2nd or 3rd preseason like they always do.

Every season.

Rinse. Repeat.

Since when is Ohio State playing? Spring doesn't count.

It's pretty easy to see why Oklahoma and UGA are ahead of LSU. It's a projection for the end of the season. What that means is, we are expected to lose to Bama therefore a loss, later than UGAs projected loss to Bama and they'd get the championship bid with a chance to make the playoff. Oklahoma isn't expected to lose and therefore would rank ahead of us. 5 is the best spot to be in unless Bama and UGA split. We'd be in if things hold to chalk because UGA would have 2 losses, both to Bama.

This is why no one cares what the AP says. It’s a media poll and they are voting for teams who aren’t even playing this year.

UGA and OU both lost their QBs, too. LSU QB has game time experience and a friendly system. If UGA could not do anything with Fromm, how you expect them to do anything with new starter?
UGA plays Auburn, Bama, and FL.

Bama remains top 3 every year no matter how many players they lose. Lsu starts out at 6 after destroying their schedule last year....smh

Well Alabama to their credit has proved they can follow a championship type season with another run at one. LSU needs to prove it can do it back to back. I think they have the team and coaching to do it, but have to do it on the field. Those type expectations and rankings are sort of priced already. Alabama would have to do something totally unexpected this year like loose 3 games (which they have not done since 2010) to get a lower starting point in the pre-season polls

OU @ #5

the Tigers from Louisiana State University plays Oklahoma in one of the college football playoff games.

LSU crushed the Sooners in the first half but the game was over early in the 2nd quarter.

Coach Oeaux didn't run up the score on the Sooners. the 2nd half was play time for 2nd and 3rd string players.

yeh, ok that was last season.

LSU will be fine this season. maybe we will get to play OU again in Atlanta.
