Great article that ranks teams returning production based on tackles, receptions, yards, pass attempts etc etc

LSU returns only 39% of its total production from last year, which is last in the SEC and 122/131 in the country

LINK

We might be FUBAR next year

ETA: We return 48% total. 39% of offense

38% was Devin and Greedy

ETA: Frankly, I would have guessed lower than 39%

We'll make up for lack of returning production with great coaching

I am not concerned about our defense with Aranada at the helm

Just concerned with production from offense (QB, WR, and RB)

New O line coach, so it could be an adjustment so you never know

hopefully one of the kickers we have for next year can be consistent, we need it

go back and look at 2012/2013/14 etc
2013 _ 9 drafted
2014 - 9 drafted including this bunch below...

And in 2015 we had the #2 SOS in college football.

Won 9 games and had McNese cancelled.

I better not hear any fricking excuses from CheeriO, Derek, Tiger Ree, or any other a-hole pumpers on here.
On this year’s said production, how many will be DRAFTED LET alone stick? Not many versus those below.
LSU Players in the 2014 NFL Draft

Round (Pick) Team - Player, Pos.
1 (12) Giants - Odell Beckham Jr., WR
2 (51) Bears - Ego Ferguson, DT
2 (55) Bengals - Jeremy Hill, RB
2 (63) Dolphins (from Broncos through 49ers) - Jarvis Landry, WR
3 (92) Panthers - Trai Turner, OG
5 (156) Broncos (From Bears) - Lamin Barrow, OLB
6 (178) Titans (From Redskins) - Zach Mettenberger, QB
6 (181) Texans (From Raiders) - Alfred Blue, RB
7 (239) Bengals - James Wright, WR

since everyone constantly bitched about production, maybe this isn't a bad thing.

So you bitched that Etling was a bad QB, now you're bitching that we won't have his production next year?

Typical.

Excuse me?

I am just pointing out by production, we will have the most inexperienced team in the entire conference next year

That is simply a fact

That is the price for having so much NFL talent on your team.

I may be reading it incorrectly but it looks like 48%. It is 39% for offense - which clearly does not include tackles and 57% of defense which gives a total of 48%.

Team / OFF RET / Rk / DEF RET / Rk / TOTAL RET / Rk
LSU ....39% ........124 ......57% ........90 .......48% ........122

The defense should be fine IF they can find guys to rush off the edge. Thornton, Chassion and Divinity have done nothing to date to show they can put consistent pressure on the QB. That's not to say they can't, just that we have no real evidence to show they will be effective pass rushers.

Offense is a different story. Other than Clapp, I think the OL "should" be ok. Weathersby seemed to always be injured and Malone was a no-show for half the season. Charles and Ingram got significant PT; you brought in Traore to be a starting tackle and you have Deculus who played some last season and was highly touted coming out of HS.

What happens elsewhere though is a crapshoot. (1) No one knows exactly what the offensive approach will look like. (2) There is no established gamebreaker at RB who LSU can just hand the ball off to and rely on him to carry the offense (3) There's a lot of potential at WR...but it's just just "potential".

Going into last season even though you didn't know what the offense would look like, you knew Guice was big time player and Williams could make plays. You knew Etling's abilities and limitations. You even knew a little bit about Chark and Gage. Now, no one knows what to expect with the offense.
