onestly, TV is irrelevant here. Producers in the truck can EASILY lower the sound of any mics that are picking up something they don;t want to broadcast. You can literally hear them mixing sound if you know what to listen for and compare it to what the stadium sounds like live. The issue is fans in the stands contacting LSU and complaining. My point there is that "questionable" behavior in Tiger stadium is nothing new. LSU's reactions to it is new.
None of that is in any way suggestion I'm in favor of screaming "EAT shite! frick YOU!" back and forth across the stadium like Wisconsin traditionally does each week...just that the reactions to things like this ALWAYS exacerbate the problem rather than fix them. And yet, over reaction is always what we get and then seemed stunned that it has little to no effect.
I wouldn't say TV is totally irrelevant. In many ways, the first impression of LSU that people not from Louisiana will have is perhaps what they see on TV when LSU football plays. So from the LSU Admin perspective, what people across the USA see on TV from LSU football is something that can positively or negatively impact the Brand of the University.
Now I know the TV engineers can drown out the sound, but sometimes the "chants" get through.
Just my take on it.

God he sucks. LSU fans are known around college football for their hospitality but F King feels the need to step in and lecture folks.

I am pretty sure this has been said in the past. Why are yall making this a big deal? Of course the president of the university wants our fans to be respectful. Relax.

Shut the frick up, F King. 99% of LSU fans will be as nice and welcoming as they always are. This is completely unnecessary virtue signalling.

I agree with you.
There is no excuse for being an idiot, no matter how drunk one is. The few can screw things up for the many because authority loves nothing more than throwing its weight around. If you want to be stupid, stay at home.

TH03, you have been feisty as shite lately, especially against Florida. I’m enjoying this and I agree with you 100%

It's not about drowning it out, but simply turning down various miced sections of the stadium. And even so...so what? How long have stadiums all across the country been chanting bullshite! to bad calls that you can hear with crystal clear clarity on TV sets?
You simply can not control 100,000 people that are emotionally charged. An even worse idea to to preemptively tell them to behave, because doing so presumes they won't. This is human nature.
I'm of the mind to simply take your hands off the wheel, trust in the fact that LSU fans are traditionally known as being gracious hosts, and allow the game to play out without getting involved.

am not going to tell people what to do. However, the LSU game day experience has deteriorated over the years due to fan behavior
It’s deteriorated due to fricks like F. King constantly removing free parking, free tailgate spots, and charging every penny for every little thing possible.
He sold LSU’s football soul down the river for a temporary dollar

You are correct about not controlling 100,000 people, and I am not saying I have never said "BS" about a call in Tiger Stadium. I most certainly have. I think from the LSU Admin's perspective, the LSU Golden Band is officially representing LSU and thus whatever the Band, student section, the LSU's team, does in the context of an LSU sporting event, etc falls under its direct jurisdiction so to speak.

You made this damn argument the other day. And even point out tiger rag was banned before any of these students were in school.
Im guessing you never went to LSU, but the people complaining now we're little shits back when they were teenagers too.
And plus, LSU has always been a gracious host. Are their fights? Yeah, at every sporting event around the world.
Most of us had been hosting tailgates and friends and families before the president even had LSU as a thought. He doesn't need to patronize and tell us how to act.
We have a reputation of being the best tailgate and best hosts.
You want a tame atmosphere? You go to the rent a win family day.

This kind of thing has nothing to do with trying to get fans to do something or not. It’s a liability thing. It’s so just in case something does happen, the university can claim they don’t condone or encourage such behavior. My suggestion is ignore it and do whatever you want. This message isn’t intended for you.
