re: LSU Plans to split with Canada after bowl

Matt Canada made Danny Etling Top 12 in passing efficiency this year after he was 51 in 2016. It was QB progress LSU hasn't seen in years. O's ego just couldn't handle staying out of the way.

Obviously, O demands complete and utter loyalty as the head coach. He did not perceive Canada as being completely and utterly loyal to him as he perceives from Aranda and Ensminger. Therefore, Canada is out.
For the most part, O will let his coaches do most of the coaching. However, he reserves the right to intervene on occasion if he feels the need to. He did and Canada resisted, which cost Canada his job.
WTF?

I'm an Etling fan and don't want to knock on him, but we basically never through in the middle of the field, used RB's and TE's mostly, and pretty much never passed it in the red zone/goal situations. Of course he was efficient.

And in years prior how much was everyone screaming about using TE's and Rb's. Now we use them too much?

100% not what I said.

Why wait till the end of the bowl game?
only reason that makes sense is that one of the playoff teams has the guy they are wanting to talk to so letting canada do the bowl game is just killing time until they can start talking to a replacement OC candidate
i just hope whoever it is, its not a guy looking to leave after 1-2 years of success. i know that means he is good but at the same time we need stability in our coaching staffs too.

I don't agree with this. How will we ever create a consistent program? This is not a good decision. Canada has talent and should be given a shot. He will be picked up quickly by one of our competitors and we will all be saying why did we not keep him at some point in the future.

In the name of mercy....is this real life?
Who is paying Canada? Orgeron or LSU?
He needs to be loyal to the program. Not to a fragile-ego dictator of a head coach.
I really hope none of what you said is true.

Beautiful.
Another distraction when we should be concentrating on preparing for a football game and another bowl game overshadowed by a coordinator about to jump ship.
Joe Alleva's athletic department and football program is a toxic PR nightmare.

So much for Orgeron's promise a year ago to hire the best OC in the country.

Can we still keep Terrace? Please.

Well he already signed so....

This is not good. Constant turmoil within the coaching ranks does not help recruiting. Creates uncertainty in a program, and does not bode well for a HC trying to dispel the appearance he's..........

WTF? We finally get a good OC and he leaves after one year because of....what? A personal conflict with the HC? We can't get out of our own fricking way.
This will be the second time in a row we've played Notre Dame in a bowl with a coordinator who had one foot out the door. I guess the offense will suck on Monday like the defense did in 2014.
Why do we always have such fricking morons running the football team?

Canada has been the OC at 3 different schools in 4 years. It's not surprising he's leaving.
I agree, the timing of this to be out is pretty bad but who knows why he's leaving. Given his track record, he does it often, regardless of who the HC is. Maybe he's hard to work with, who knows.
