re: LSU only gets 3,000 tickets to Texas game not 3800

I think people will be able to get whatever they want on the secondary market and it will be more reasonable as the game approaches. I've only been to a couple of games there. One being a big game when Iowa State had Seneca Wallace or whatever his name was and they were ranked pretty high. It was loud at times and other times felt like a polo match.

It’ll be band, player families and the richest fans.

We're about to crush the secondary market then.

message from LSU about Texas game:
"at Texas This game will be played in Austin, Tex. LSU allotment is 3,000 tickets with all seating in upper level. All requests are welcome (maximum 4), but we expect the LSU ticket allotment to be exhausted by Priority Ranking 300 if not earlier. Ticket price - $150"
I received that email last week.. my TAF ranking is somewhere around 250, so it made me hopeful that i might receive a pair of tickets, if not all 4- but logistically, i dont see how anyone who isn’t in the top 150 or so will get any tickets.. when you calculate the band (if they come in full) and other extraneous LSU staff and athletic people, 3000 tickets doesn’t go very far at all.. as others have mentioned , i have a lot more hope that we’ll return the favor next yr now that Woodward is in charge.

Those are the absolute highest, squint-to-see-anything nosebleed seats.. for anything remotely decent , prepare to pay almost $1,000 for a pair, or more.. with prices like those on Stubhub and the like, it’ll be interesting to see how many people’s predictions of LSU fans ‘taking over’ will come true.. i agree that we’ll take over downtown that weekend, the whole place will be purple and gold- but inside the stadium, i’m Not so sure.. like many other Tigers in the Houston and Austin areas, i’ll Probably just tailgate then watch from a bar.

Glad I bought UT season tickets

Radical idea.
LSU should give them 3000 seats. All in the same rows across the top of both upper sections. Alternate the rows by about five or six rows. No Texas "section," nothing in lower bowl if it can be helped.
Sea of purple with a couple of burnt orange stripes across the stadium.

I would assume Woodward would return the favor, in spades, to TX next year...i.e. 3000 seats stretched across the upper decks ! The 3000 or so seats in the lower South East EZ {normally set aside for visitors]...will prob. lead to a real ticket scramble, next year. Likely a $175+ single game 'offer' to the season ticket holders ?

This was the smart play, and i know that a lot of Houston and Austin based Tigers did this.
Season tix can (or could) be had for a little more than the price of a pair of nosebleed single tickets for the LSU/UT game.. now you can sell some of the other games on the schedule and basically see the LSU game for free.. I would’ve bought UT season tix myself if i didnt already have so much of my $$ tied up with TAF.

Good luck with that. You might want to Google last year's TCU, USC, West Virginia, and Iowa State games. The dynamic of our home games has totally changed with our new AD Chris Del Conte.

We dont need another georgia fiasco with the south endzone looking more red then purple and gold. Hopefully woodward big dicks them and throws them in the uppers as well

I've got my plane ticket and VRBO room booked. I don't expect to get one of the 3k allotted.
Just waiting on Louisiana Tech to whip their arse week one so I can get some tickets on the cheap....

I agree with you, but it’s sad that our expectations as Tiger fans have dropped so low.
I mean, it doesnt even take a big dick to say ‘We’re going to allot to you the exact same number of tickets that you allotted to us last year’.. and yet, under Alleva, we’ve gotten used to always getting the short end of the stick in situations like that.. see: Florida, hurricane

TCU, USC, West Virginia, and Iowa State

If both Texas and LSU win their first game, and they should, this ticket price will only climb as the game approaches. College GameDay will likely be there.
Remember, Texas has sucked for about a decade, and fans have been waiting for a game like this for a long time. You'll be able to buy tickets on the secondary market, but they won't be cheap.

Kinda like a Super Bowl.
Not saying that the UT/LSU game will be like a Super Bowl.. but it will easily be THE hardest ticket to get in college football, with the exception of a Natl Title game.. bigger than the SEC Championship, and bigger than just about any bowl game.. hell, considering the wide availablilty of tickets to last yr’s Bama/Clemson nat’l title game, getting a ticket for the UT/LSU game could rival that.
Posted on 5/7/19 at 3:58 pm to deaux
No,absolutely not. However, I think tickets are going to be very difficult to obtain in the secondary market and super expensive, especially as we get closer to the game. If you have the opportunity to buy tickets now, I would certainly do so before they skyrocket.
Posted on 5/7/19 at 4:33 pm to austintexastiger
Lots of corporate tickets will hit the secondary market.

Here is the actual text from the original email sent back on March 7. (Emphasis added, except for fifth paragraph. That part was bold in the original email. )
quote:
Dear LSU Football Season Ticket Holder,
We want to make sure the purple and gold are heard and seen at the highly-anticipated Texas-LSU matchup on September 7. And, we know many of you are planning to try and make the short trip west to do exactly that. Demand for this game will be high and we will have extremely limited availability of tickets, so we are alerting our ticketholders today to plan to purchase tickets via StubHub no matter where you are on the point system.
Tickets are available now through StubHub.com.
Unlike neutral site games, where the schools split availability in the stadium, this home and home series is focused on giving as many home fans as possible the opportunity to see a top-tier non-conference game. The allotment for both visiting teams will be minimal. Texas will play LSU at Tiger Stadium in 2020.
The tickets allotted to LSU will be in the visiting section of the upper deck of Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium. The bulk of that allotment will be distributed first to the families and guests of players and coaches, the university and athletics travel party, members of the LSU band and students.
We will accept requests for any remaining tickets in the spring, but we want you to know those requests are unlikely to be filled and recommend that you plan on using the secondary market for tickets.
Remember, this is a big game and counterfeit tickets may be a problem. So please only purchase through StubHub as the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of both the University of Texas and LSU. Tickets purchased from StubHub are guaranteed to be honored at the gates.
We hope to see you in Austin in the fall! Geaux Tigers!

We’ll show you massive. Not everything is bigger in Texas.
