LSU not ranked by ESPN as one of 8 "Blue-Blood" CFB Programs

ESPN recently ranked all 128 FBS programs in terms of their importance to the history of college football. The top 8 teams were classified as college football's "blue blood" programs. LSU just missed the cut placing at #9.

What are your thoughts on ESPN's analysis. Is the ranking too low? Too high? Just right?

9. LSU Tigers | 9.33
LSU is often a part of the national title conversation, but the Tigers have won only three, the most recent of which came from current coach Les Miles in 2007. They've also produced only one Heisman Trophy winner, Billy Cannon in 1959.

LSU is definitely not a blue blood. 9 is an excellent ranking.

Can't argue with who is in front of us

That's from forever ago to now, fool.

Putting us at 9 and selecting only 8 blue bloods is just trolling our fanbase on purpose.
Who makes a list of 8??

I think the rationale is reasonable, and I agree that the 8 considered 'Blue-Bloods" are more deserving than LSU.

If there are 8 "Blue Bloods" and we are 9, ill take that.

LSU ins't one of the 8 bluebloods, 9 is about right though historically.

I think it's just about right. We're a top-10 all-time program, but just a notch behind the elite of the elite. Two or three playoff appearances over the next decade (coupled with Nebraska's ongoing irrelevance) would vault us into that top group.

Actually Florida St was lower than LSU. Nebraska was #8

Seems right.
I think Nebraska is on the down-slope though. They are largely irrelevant now.

Nebraska has worked their way out of being a blue blood.
No Championships (Conference, National) since 1999 of any kind. Last (finished) Top 10 Ranking was 15 years ago. They have shown zero signs of coming back too, I dont think they ever do. Just an impossible place to recruit any sort of elite talent to this day and age.
There's 7 blue bloods, that's it (ESPN's Top 7). Some teams, like us, could work our way into it. I'd consider Penn State and Tennessee former blue bloods who worked their way out similar to Nebraska, but could work their way back in.

College football started in 2001 right.

What teams have won at least 8 games a season this entire Century.

Being ranked 9th is a great ranking. Will take it

I think #9 is great considering the programs ahead of us.
I'm a little surprised Washington is so low on that list. I know it's been rough going for them in recent years, but being the 5th best Pac-12 team doesn't seem right.

Who the hell makes a list of 8? Was this designed just to piss of the fanbases of 9 and 10?
