Stop yelling. FSU is ranked lower than LSU and nobody has said FSU was more deserving.

Whoops, knew I should have read that response closer. Somebody guessed what it was; FSU was ahead of us and I bit.

Don't know how they defined it and don't want to know ESPN's definition...so I keeeep my head in sand!

Should be a top 10 blue bloods and as always in all such group know-it-all think tanks, the criteria is always skewed.

Hell, remember back in the day Texas and AR were always 1 or 2 and every time we played them, kicked their arse.

Then look at '71 for an example of screwing we took.

I digress...gonna go take a nap!

That's absolutely the list of blue bloods, although I admittedly think of Nebraska as a member of the next tier. They will never come close to their previous glory due to recruiting and conference realignment.

Ranking LSU #9 is pretty generous. I don't see how you can rank us above Tennessee. They have more SEC titles, wins and own the head-to-head over LSU by a pretty decent margin. We have one more NC and Heisman winner, but I definitely think they're still #2 in the SEC all time.

9 seemed right but how can you rank us ahead of Tennessee?

Who the hell makes a list of 8? Was this designed just to piss of the fanbases of 9 and 10?

Paranoia. Sheesh!!! If there are only eight teams they consider to be blue bloods, are they supposed to throw in two more just to make it more tidy?? They are saying that after the "blue bloods", LSU is the #1 program of all-time.

I love LSU as much as anybody that posts on this board but I can't say I have a problem at all with the list. #9 is VERY respectable.

Since we are talking "all time," can't argue with the blue bloods.

Nine is an excellent rating.

EXACTLY the 8 that should have been chosen. Only young little girls are the ones whining otherwise.

LSU is in a GREAT position at #9. We are trending up, while #8 Nebraska and #10 Penn St are trending down. We are almost exactly rated between those 2 historic programs. Historically Nebraska has dominated LSU on the field (LSU = 0-5-1 vs. 'Huskers) and they have 5 NC's and 3 Heismans. So we are still looking up a few years longer.

Very fair ranking, oerhaps, maybe even too generous.

When I think "blue blood", I think Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, USC, and UCLA.

I generally rank LSU all time in the top 20, but not top 10. Currently, they're top 10, but not all time.

Just curious, why do you think of them as a blue blood program? Their history doesn't even come close to the others.

True meaning of Blue Bloods would be schools like.

Navy
Army
ND
Mich
Rutgers
Penn
Princeston
Yale
Harvard

If you want to say the best since 1950 then OK. But the true meaning of Blue Bloods in College Football are the originals.

This woke me up from my nap. I'm a Tehas hater. You can take those 100 more wins than LSU and sideways them. You do know Tehas was in the SWC forever beating pissant teams like TCU, Baylor, Hardin Simmons, Rice, aTm and the like forever (before aTm became the natl. power they are now..he he he). We played those teams and typically beat them 25+ every year just as a warm-up to the SEC competition.

Hell, we're 7-9-1 all-time vs Tehas.

That's all I've got to say, don't wake me up again!

NOT REALLY...

"Blue blood" is more about nobility/royalty... And less about being the "original"

This.

I don't care if Rutgers is "the birthplace of college football". That program doesn't belong in the discussion.

9th all time? That's great. Only one team ahead that there is really any consideration otherwise and that's Texas.

I am not sure FSU is a blue blood. They didn't start playing football until the 60s I believe. FSU was an all girl's school until then.
