According to a certain Orlando columnist who some of us are quite familiar with. I was shocked to not see this posted yet but I searched quite thoroughly. Apologies if I missed it.

They are the only CFB team to win a championship this decade so I would say they are the most dominant.

For the record, this is the same guy that in 2016 said that Jimbo would be foolish to take a "lesser" job at LSU.

This is a team that went down to the wire (21 point 4th quarter in 34-31 game) with an Auburn team that lost by 14 points to a three-loss LSU team.

I guess he's pandering to his audience over there in Florida.

Edit to add: To be fair, they did absolutely destroy two top 10 teams in No. 3 Clemson (@ Clemson) and No. 7 Miami, with a number of other top 25 wins.

The Seminoles beat teams during the regular season by an average score of 53-11 (42 points per game) and beat ranked teams by more than 40 points per game. This year’s LSU team only beat opponents — albeit, more ranked regular-season opponents — by 27 points per game.

They had the top ranked defense that year, plus their offense was #2 in scoring and #6 in total yards, so I'd say it's a fair debate.

Not going to let it take anything away from this magical season.

I didn't realize the most dominant national champion of the modern era would be one that won their NCG by 3 points on a last-second TD.

The fact that everyone with a platform is giving you their opinion about who they think is the best college football team ever RELATIVE to the team we just had...that tells you we were the best college football team ever.

I didn’t hear any of this debate after the 2013 season.

The same FSU team where the star QB raped a girl and then the Tallahassee police swept it under the rug and Jimbo kept playing him all season?

Not to mention a 10-3 LSU team beat Auburn worse than Florida State did that year.

The ACC was maybe slightly better then than it is now. Clemson was still Clemsoning at that time.

Not the point of the article but quibble over semantics if you must.

No question that was an impressive team - CRUSHED #3 Clemson 51-14 - AT Clemson. CRUSHED #7 Miami 41-14, and beat an unranked Florida team in the Swamp by 4 TDs.

They did beat 3 Top 10 teams (at the time they played) by a combined score of 126-59 (so an average score of ~42-20). So, I am not saying this to say something bad about 2013 FSU - I'm saying it to say something good about 2019 LSU -

2013 FSU didn't really get all that close to what 2019 LSU accomplished with all due respect.

So, Mr. Bianchi? I respect your right to be wrong on this issue.

What do you people not understand about the fact that half of our schedule was played against top 10 opponents? SOS DOES matter.

We had to hear how great Clemson and Ohio State were statistically all season compared to LSU, and how’d that turn out? This team was the GOAT. All of those top 10 wins, and we were never really even in danger of losing all year, and we ran away with most of those matchups.

The team that was lucky to squeak by an Auburn team that a just above average LSU team beat soundly? That FSU team?
