She should be able to wear the Puma shoes in games.

Not necessarily. When she is on the court she is representing LSU not herself.

Wear Pumas any other time you aren’t representing LSU. Puma had to know this was the deal going into giving her the endorsement.

No biggie. She earns every penny of her six figures by posting those vids endorsing Puma to her one million social media followers.

No conflict or problem with adhering to the Nike sponsorship by wearing the swoosh in games and on “official” business.

She has the best of both worlds and very few student athletes have the brand and star power for a competing shoe deal.

It's called a "uniform" for a reason. You play for LSU, you wear the uniform, including shoes.

Did she sign a contract with Nike? How does wearing Nike shoes benefit any of the players. Seems LSU gets paid handsomely for that, but other than free gear the players don’t get much else

She signed with LSU, who signed with Nike. This isn't hard.

But it was a Nike blue cleat. They don’t all wear the same gloves but they are all Marrucci

Scholarships and all the perks that cost money athletes get cost money. That money comes from these deals. Is it fair for that to be the only compensation? No that’s why NIL is a good thing but when she is representing LSU she has to follow the contract LSU signed.

It’s possible. In the NBA the jerseys are Nike brand but the players can wear different brand shoes based on their endorsements.

It would take the companies to decide it is ok not LSU.

Of course. And what incentive do the companies have to make that concession?

Bad optics is the only thing I can think of that would make them do this. Nike has shown in the past some public push back they will concede real quick. It’s probably to keep people from focusing on how their stuff is actually made.

So you’re saying that other than free stuff they don’t get anything?

Deion Sanders has to wear CU Nike gear even though he is sponsored by Under Armour
