Kind of reminds me of Mett a little bit.
He would have been much better than Lee

Miles didn't go conservative until after Lee's freshmen season.

Easily, besides from Keenum, the best backup in the league.

Miles only had good QB play from people he didn’t recruit, is what you’re saying.
RP, and Mett were good.
Brennan is a Miles recruit and we'll see SE does with him.

Just dd him to the long list of complete whiffs in the LSU QB recruiting history
Peyton Manning (passed on him for Josh Booty. Archie wanted him to come to LSU since Peyton didn't want to go to Ole Miss)
Nick Foles (your story)
Dak Prescott (expressed verbally he wanted to come to LSU, but Miles wouldn't let him play QB
RG3 (see above from Prescott)

Nick Foles lit it up for some bad Arizona teams. Was very fun to watch in college. Will get a chance to be a full time starter again.

I think in relation to my original post about LSU, we would have been happy to have Nick or Cousins. Nick did make the pro bowl one year with 28 yds vs 3 interceptions and one of highest Nfl qb ratings ever.

hooped with him a few times at lifetime fitness. seemed like a nice enough kid.

Les Miles was all about offense early on. His program made Jamarcus Russell the #1 pick in the draft.
Wrong. Jimbo Fisher's offense.
Miles was open to an offensive team then.

TL,DR: if Miles had the right QB, he'd have taken the training wheels off the offense. Foles would have been like Flynn here.
Wrong again. Was ten years of evidence not enough?
Which 10 are those?
Here's what I saw- whenever we had a QB on roster good enough to make an NFL practice roster (Russell, Flynn, Mett), Miles would allow the offense to open up.
He WOULD have allowed that with Perilloux, but Ryan chose to be an idiot instead.
He initially tried to do that with Lee, but that threatened to reverse every success the program had made, so he shut that down and rode the run game and the defense, with JJ. After Mett, we were in a similar situation with Johnson and Harris; and he did try with Harris, but the light never came on.
I don't care where the QBs come from, it only matters who was here. If Foles was here, he'd have been the best guy on the roster, would have played, and would have been allowed to pass if he didn't pull a Lee out there.

Because of Miles influence on the offense, LSU was completely incapable of developing either one of them. Let’s be truthful, Miles’ record speaks for itself.
Hoo boy!!! Lots of posters in this thread throwing out breadcrumbs for Rickdaddy. I'm gonna check back here later and I fully expect this thread to have devolved into another Rickdaddy - PJ argument.
ETA for paper tiger: Legit CSB. Thanks for sharing.

You know, one of the stories that follow Nick around is tha he is a not athletic kid who is a statue in the pocket. On this thread he was compared to Mett.
That’s a nice comparison in one sense, Mett is a big kid who can spin the ball. But Nick has way better feet than people think, much better than Mett, which he showed on a few plays yesterday.
Nick could have played small forward or shooting guard at some smaller colleges, he was a very good bball player in high school and club leagues.
Did you play ball with him in Austin or Scottsdale? Last time I saw him play he still moved well and was a decent shot for a big kid.

Scoob!!!!!
Thats twice now you have grabbed my undivided attention while reading your posts. I am so impressed with your expertise of this game and LSU. Please post more.
These silly ignorants in here, get a little thing in their head and convince themselves Miles wouldve ruined every QB regardless of the talent. They conveniently forget about the good QB play LSU had under Miles or give the credit to someone else.
Its so sad, that the ignorance in here is so profound. Most of these neanderthals, really thought anyone could win 10 games a year at LSU and have a winning record against other teams that win 9 games a year.
They really think Miles' football IQ is below theirs. Its quite comical.
Please post More!
Just maybe you can convince 1 or 2 in here about whatever you post, but dont bet on it.

LSU wouldn’t have benefited from Foles. If he would have come to LSU he would have been just like all the other QB’s that have signed with LSU the last 10 years.
Not one bit better the day they left than they were the day they got here. Sometimes worse.

I honestly was not impressed with Foles in college. My dad told me he was great so I watched him a few times and didn't see it. I remember the game vs osweiler and thought he looked a lot better than him though.
Still, I think he would have been an asset at LSU. We had some pretty bad QBs those few years around when he was recruited.

Nick also had an offer to play qb at Ole Miss.
Was this Ed O that offered him? Or after Ed O left Ole Miss?
