I have known Nick since he was born. His dad and I are old friends and business partners.

Nick was a three star qb from Westlake where he broke many records of Drew Brees. That same year Jarret Lee was a 4 star Texas qb. How Lee who had only played a year or two was higher rated than 6 foot 5 Foles was beyond me.

Nick wanted to go to Texas, but never got offered. LSU recruited him and he and my kids threw the football at a tailgate where Nick was on a visit. His dad lived in BR for a while and Nick would have likely gone to LSU if offered.

He wasn’t, he went on to set records at Arizona. I cant help but think we would have won another NC with Nick and that super talented team we had with Lee and JJ. I even wrote the recruiting coordinator to tell them how good Nick was.

Nick sure had a great game tonight. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. 3 star qbs can be very good if you get the right one.

He, in my opinion, is the perfect college QB. Never would have expected him to do so well in the pros though, this is the second time he’s lead the eagles on a playoff run. Easily, besides from Keenum, the best backup in the league.

Honestly, he probably wouldn't have done well here. Not bashing him, but I'm certain the reason we've sucked at the QB position for so long now is because of Les Miles. Having a good QB running a tempo offense just wasn't part of his gameplan.

Glad he found his path at Arizona.

Les would have wasted him anyways if he came here. He made the right decision

Les played Lee but lost confidence because of the pick sixes. Foles may have come in and not thrown pick sixes and dominated.

Les Miles would have recruited him as a WR.

bullshite!

Les Miles was all about offense early on. His program made Jamarcus Russell the #1 pick in the draft. He won a BCS title with Flynn running a potent offense. He envisioned Ryan Perilloux running an offense that likely would have looked a lot like later read and shoot spread attacks, with a premier DT QB pulling the trigger. We'd have probably looked like Clemson.

Perilloux flamed out, and because he was such a stud, we didn't have anyone else ready to start after he left (he scared off the other prospects).
We started the season with noodle-arm Harvard guy because he was the only guy ready mentally. Lee had talent but didn't know how to read defenses at all. JJ was raw as shite and was still going to be redshirted, and maybe moved to safety or something.
Noodle-arm (I forget his name) literally couldn't throw the ball 40 yds downfield, and was killed trying to play against D-1 talent. Enter Lee- who could throw the ball, but was putting up pick-6's every damn game. Even on simple passes. Les had enough of that, it was quickly killing the entire program. So he yanked the redshirt off JJ with orders not to throw unless someone was WIDE OPEN, and to run on pass plays if they weren't. That salvaged the 2008 season and rescued the program, which climbed back to respectable and eventually elite again, this time almost solely on defense.

With Mett, again he opened the offense up. Mett was awfully raw his first year, but developed into a great college QB his next, and if the defense hadn't been terrible that year LSU would have been elite due to that offense.

TL,DR: if Miles had the right QB, he'd have taken the training wheels off the offense. Foles would have been like Flynn here.

If it hasn't been said already, we would have ruined him and he never would sniffed the league. Be happy he didn't come here.

Wrong. Jimbo Fisher's offense.

Wrong again. Was ten years of evidence not enough?

Les saw that height and immediately thought what a great TE he would make.
