The LSU band did not back down like UF's team.

We should call this the "Won't Back Down Game". Co-opt their made up tradition.

Can talk about what a disaster this game was for hours…but I’ll take a different route here…

Can we do something about opposing team’s bands not shutting the hell up EVER? I’ve noticed it at 3 games so far this year. I thought USF was bad about it…LSU takes the cake.

For one, they started playing an hour before they even kicked off. They played throughout the game while we were on offense RIGHT UP UNTIL RICHARDSON SNAPPED THE BALL, and then what sealed it for me was them playing over the Won’t Back Down tradition on our first annual Tom Petty Day. The disrespect was absolutely disgusting. No class whatsoever.

Oh no, not the disrespect on their FIRST annual Tom Petty day

Their team has been in a free fall since Tebow left.

Sounds like they did their job perfectly.

Well, they were honoring Tom Petty at the game, and his family was there for the occasion. The LSU band should have shown some discretion and waited for the tribute to end before they played. It was just the right thing to do.

He allegedly used to mow grass there. Sold some grass and smoked a lot on the side.

What is the Petty tradition thing? Did the band know that was going on? If the crowd is loud and rowdy, the band cant hear what’s going on

Saying the band us ‘classless’ is a bit of a stretch

According to those who apparently know, the band doesn’t play until given the ok by the person from Florida who coordinates with the LSU band. Someone posted a video of the Petty tribute, and it seems that the band didn’t play while Perry’s song was being played over the stadium sound system. So lots of hoohah about nothing. Throwing water bottles and/or beer cans at anyone is not ok. The band is not to blame.

They played when told to by the Florida personnel. They didn’t play during the song. Apparently they played when told they could play. The Petty family was still on the field, but the tribute was apparently officially over. The whole ruckus is just a made up effort to defend some bad behavior by some unruly fans.

IDK, but I'm, beginning to wonder if the UF admin didn't intentionally green light our band to play just to cause the ruckus.
