2012 was a Peach Bowl loss.
Arguably, yeah.
2012 had a 2 loss reg season, then lost an exhibition game vs a much better opponent than '18 and played gumps pretty tough.

I always hear you can only play the teams in front of you, can't help the schedule etc,so with the cancel, 2015 fits, and again that 3 loss team managed points vs gumps.

2018 was a better season than expected with a gritty exhibition win over a G5 opp.

2012 was a better team they lost 3 games by 1 score each, 2 on basically the last play against top 10 teams, 2 on the road.

This was a very good season some reasons for (cautious) optimism.

You do realize we had 2 losses in our last NC season, right? We were a terrible referee job away from that this year. Luck has a lot to do with it.

I member, and I agree...just wondering when it's going to happen. I think we can all agree that better teams have a better shot at being in a position to luck out and win a NC.

best since 2011

There is NO best season that includes a 29-0 home loss to Alabama and the first SEC loss to Texas A&M in SEC series history.

The playoffs have made the bowls meaningless. You cant compare bowls since 2014 to those pre that time.

It's hilarious watching people jump and shout up a 10-3, 5-3 record when a few years ago those records were not acceptable for many of those same people.

Bowls that didn’t involve the three or or four top teams with a serious chance to win the NC, whether by poll, BCS, or playoff, have always meant about what they mean this year. The playoffs have no real effect on bowl games that don’t involve the winner having an opportunity to win the NC. Things are pretty much the same for those bowls as before. The Rose Bowl was a “meaningless” bowl for quite a few years when neither the Pac-10 or Big 10 team was in the NC hunt, even before the BCS/playoff era. There have been many years before the BCS or playoff eras that the Sugar or Cotton or Orange or Fiesta had no bearing on who was going to win the championship in any given year, not to mention the plethora of bowls that were created even before the BCS. The idea that bowls today are somehow less meaningful today than during the years prior the the playoffs is pretty much demonstrably not true.

Definitely the best season since 2011 when you consider the schedule. It wasn't pretty but many of Miles seasons weren't pretty either.

Not really. Check out 2012's schedule.

Also lost a lot of players that season to injuries and suspension. 23 scholarship players down.

I agree with OP. This was an important bowl win under unfavorable circumstances.

Big positive momentum going into the offseason.

Yeah, two triple overtime losses. ZERO 29-0 losses. We were not two bad calls away from the season we had in 2007. We were about 30 calls away from that.

Only a total douche like you would not be at least somewhat pleased by the season considering what experts were predicting.

The difference in this team moving forward and your god's teams when he got canned is that we are at least trending in a positive direction instead of circling the drain.

At some point you need to completely quit the back=handed dick-riding you're doing for the previous HC and simply move on with your life. It's pathetic.

What does that have to do with a 5-3 SEC record being pissed on by you and jerks like you before, but now its acceptable and we should be pleased.

Now, 10-3, 5-3 losing to Texas A&M, Florida, beat like a bad dog by Alabama, and having a shitty offense is positive when for years you screamed out underachieving.

Look up hypocrite. That's you.

Miles wasted significantly more talent than O has had so far.
The dude brought in all-world talent yearly and proceeded to squander it...LF case in point....but you're too stupid to see that or admit it.

The fact that florida and TAM have both improved and both were home games for them is lost on your dumb arse. We had a new QB and arguably the weakest corps of RBs in years not to mention another subpar O-line and basically inexperienced WRs and you expect O to run the table with that shite against a strong schedule.

You don't watch much football do you? But certainly like to act like you do.

I’m not fond of the current administration, but if you think LSU was closer to a NC under Miles’ leadership at the end, IDK what to tell you.

LSU has needed to combine a great offense with their championship defenses for years. Orgeron is doing it wrong, but at least he’s trying...

I don’t understand why people think the bowls mean less because of the CFP. With two of the NY6 bowl games being semifinals, it’s not like there are any more teams getting into top bowls than there were before. The only difference is that they are seeded by the CFP committee rather than the bowl committees.

In fact, it was actually easier to get into a top bowl at the end of the BCS era because the national championship was no longer a bowl game...

So, you now can excuse defeats to first year coaches taking over from fired coaches as long as the come on the road. How mature of you. I wonder where that understanding was before when no defeats could be excused.

As I said, you are a hypocrite.
