But its hard to get excited about that in some ways, when after 1 year they will just try to renegotiate and hit the portal

2025 commitments at this point are very up in the air. You can almost guarantee at least one of those will flip before signing day.

Theoretically, this wouldn’t happen if NIL is channeled into retention.

That’s great and all but a lot can happen between now and signing day for that class.
I don’t count on any of these “commitments” until they are actually on campus.

There is no precedent for this at lsu.
They are set to have multiple 1st rd picks in 2024 & the 2025 draft and not one of them has said let me go somewhere else to get more money lol
