There probably are some overreactions but do you see no reason to be pretty concerned about this upcoming game?

Instead of starting these threads, some of you should place large wagers on LSU +10.5, or hell, even the money line. Put your money where your optimism is.

An FCS team! Not even a good one. Even if we were sleep walking we should be able to own the LOS and wear them down after a couple of quarters. We should hash teams like that even with a bad offense

“ it was a natural let down”

I can agree with that.

“Most of the rant”

Is extremely concerned over the fact that our offense ranks last in the SEC after just playing the weekest opponent to come to Tiger Stadium in years.

There is also a very real chance that Auburn will beat us up pretty badly if our offense continues to play as it has so far this season.

But SLU recorded 76 Total Offensive plays to our 55 Also, out outgained LSU in first downs. The 3rd qtr was painful to watch.. Whereas, A&M's Offense is ranked in the top 3 in the P5, Kellen Mund threw 20-43 for 430 yards & 3 TDS and Jimbo hasn't been in College Station but 8 months. LSU's offensive woes continue. Its ground hog day.

Can LSU beat Auburn? sure. But not Running pass safe with 2 receiver sets. And its not like LSU doesn't have receivers. We do. Pass safe fools no one. The Auburn front will shot down the run and force Burrow to Beat Auburn. If our O-Line was loaded with dudes I would say yeah, LSU wins... but Auburn just so happens to have the best defensive front in the conference perhaps the country that will face the worst offense statistically in the conference and the 3d worse in the P5.

It's not rocket science:
The offense looked piss poor against FCS level opponent. Auburn has one of the best defenses in college football. LSU looks like a decent team, but they have to be better than decent to beat Auburn. In fact, they have to be better than great. The only years LSU has beaten Auburn @Auburn over the last 20 years has been in years when War Eagle finished with a losing record. Ask yourself: does this Auburn team look more like a top 10 team or a team that won't make a bowl game?

So, to recap:
1. LSU's offense doesn't look good enough to score on Auburn's defense.

2. LSU barely ever wins on the Plains in general.

Sue me for being concerned by what I'm seeing.

This is the mentality we had with les miles. The play on the field sucks. Offense that is.

In 2015 we were 7-0 and ranked 4th. How did that turn out?

So melting is warranted because we've gotten our feelings hurt in the past?

Eh. I’m normally on the fence and play wait and see but the trend with offense sucks my balls. The OL is terrible.

Hopefully this defense can carry the load for the year.

And rightfully so, even though we are 2-0 we are either last or close to it in just about every offensive category there is. That doesn't not bode for success down the rode if that doesn't change quickly.

Right now the only thing that is working on offense is our running game "shocking I know" so watch what our SEC brethren do. They are all going to stack the box and say beat us through the air!!!

We might be 2-0, but simply put not all 2-0 teams are the same!

because lsu coaches have been promising a dynamic offense for years and have failed to deliver. then lsu fans look over at a west rival scorching a top defense in only their 2nd game with the staff. it's a legit complaint

then people say give it time. yeah, we've seen that movie before and it doesn't end well

I’m not saying that there are no offensive concerns

That's what this boils down to.

A significant portion of our fan base (especially on this site has no ability to gauge the quality / weaknesses of our team. Thus, they flounder between expecting a national championship level team and an ever-present fear that the team is going to totally fall apart.

At no point, not before the season started, not after Miami, not now would anyone who knows football think that this team is national championship level. It's not.

The offensive line is not only below average for the SEC, it's bottom of the SEC level...with potential to be even worse with an injury or two. LSU has other offensive issues (RB talent, WR experience, etc.), but even if those things solve themselves it won't matter with this OL.
