Another huge name here y'all. I'm wondering when we're going to hire the Pittsburg State Gorillas get back coach

Looks like he was a GA here earlier in the decade.

I may need to send my resume in to Ed....I did coach a flag football team about 6 years ago and had a decent high school career playing special teams.

Was hired as the Princeton DBs coach after his LSU GA gig.

ETA: Looks like he recruited Brett and Blaine Bech's nephew to Princeton.

I wonder if O is hiring all of these people to his shadow staff just to mimic what Saban is doing at Bama.

To get big time jobs you need to pay your dues
An analyst at a Power 5 job gets you into a better position to become an assistant at a bigger program

If there were a big time recruit at Garden City that we were going after, this would be the worst move we could make.

You guys are STILL bitching about analysts?

There’s plenty of shite to complain about. This isn’t one of them.

This is never bad news.

There aren’t limits on analysts and we can use all the help we can get. And they’re cheap.

Maybe he’s got a connection to a recruit or something.

ETA:

This looks like a Dave Aranda staff building move. The guy is clearly a very smart guy and was good enough for an NFL contract as well.

I think it's a good hire for an analyst role. Might have a future in being a DB coach.

Really solid resume foundation for a coaching career.

quote:

Leon Wright was named Wide Receivers Coach at Garden City in July of 2017. Prior to joining the GCCC coaching staff, Wright served as a Defensive Graduate Assistant at Louisiana State University working primarily under Defensive Coordinator, Dave Aranda and Defensive Backs’ Coach, Corey Raymond helping guide LSU to a top 10 defensive rank performance.

Wright began his coaching career at Duke University as a Defensive Quality Control Coach for two years under Head Coach David Cutcliffe. He worked hand and hand with the Blue Devils’ Defensive Coordinator Jim Knowles and Secondary Coach Derek Jones. In 2013, Wright joined the Louisiana State University staff working alongside tenured staff members to produce the number one ranked Defense in the SEC.

In February 2015, Wright was named Defensive Backfield Assistant Coach at Princeton University with key areas of focus being production and development of the cornerbacks and assisting with Special Teams. Wright was responsible for an assigned recruiting area that included (LA, FL, TN, AL, WV, MS, AR, and KY). During his time at Princeton, Wright was an honored recipient of the Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship working directly with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Prior to establishing his coaching career, Wright played cornerback at Duke University where he was an All-ACC honoree for the Blue Devil’s his final year, garnishing a free agent contract with the New York Giants organization in 2010. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Duke University and a Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts from LSU.

Oh good, more things for the rant to bitch about for no reason. Y’all are the ones complaining that we didn’t have a shadow staff.

If he's got a connection to a recruit, we shouldn't be hiring him as an analyst.
