Morgan’s pro career is probably outfield.

Sad thing is you have kids all over who would have loved to play for LSU. Texas has a catcher from Ville Platte. He started as a true freshman. He is a Sophomore this year. His dad played pro ball. PM could have had him , but ……

Almost assuredly? Cmon. Ben Mc has questioned that a few different times.

I’m not pushing it, just throwing the ideas out
The OF is going to be crowded if Dugas returns anyway. But I assume the 1B/DH from Delgado is plug n play because of his bat

Do you approach Crews & see if he’s open to catching?
That's what an experienced JUCO is for, and recruiting better all around talent behind the plate

That’s why I think you give Dugas a shot at 2B. We have more guys competing for spots in the OF than IF.

He trained this offseason as LSU’s emergency catcher too.
Look it ain’t happening but they need to find a competent catcher

If Milazzo could just hit like .250 I’d be thrilled

Maybe Crews can be our Friday starting pitcher, Saturday 2nd baseman and Sunday catcher

Pitching will be a huge concern. I know we have the freshmen but as of right now today not one of them is ready to make a weekend start.
Let’s hope they make huge strides before next year and we have some serious incoming talented arms. Maybe the transfer portal will help.

He’s a very good first baseman. If we have capable infielders to make routine throws (which we didn’t this year) he could be more valuable in OF. At the next level he’s almost assuredly in the outfield
The bigger point Lester was making was that you could theoretically add a big bat at 1B.
His point was not that we needed to upgrade 1B defensively, or even that he'd be more valuable in the outfield.

It’s going to blow people’s mind how many from this years team either won’t be on the roster or will be backups next year. I don’t know what many if you see but it’s clear we consistently choked at key positions at critical times and in critical at bats this year.
If the caliber of coach comes in here who we think Woodward will hire, he’s going to see that when he evaluates the tape. I’d look for at least 4-5 new starters in ‘22. We need big time players who can play big when it counts. I also look for an overhaul of our recruiting philosophy. And for sure we need a to find 2 weekend starters or it will be a long year.

Morgan has left field written all over him. Dugas looks like a fish out of water in the OF.
Posted on 6/13/21 at 9:36 pm to OchoDedos
I cant imagine morgan not playing first base next year

I think we slide Thompson to second and portal a second if we don’t have recruit that can play s
