He’s been good inside 45. But unreliable outside that. Wish we had someone with a bigger leg.
But he’s been good enough.

Not saying he should not have some competition but glad to have him back.

It’s because he just has a weak leg. I have nothing against the guy, but these days you need guys that can hit from 50+.
In medium to short range he is very good though I will say that.

What is the reason for so many kickers, college and pro, now hitting 55+ FGs with regularity?
The last 5 years or so has seen an explosion of these young cannon-legs.
Weight training, better techniques, the footballs? I mean, we’ve always had some big leg guys but now it seems every team has one.

Some kids form
Some kids muscle
My son got professional training in 8th grade. When you see that 5 years in advance it just looks different.

Need another holder and deep hiker.

but his lack of a big leg. He can barely kick a 50 yarder
Cole Tracy was a hero in 2018 with basically the same leg strength limitation.

Some people were mad at him last season. I dont think it was entirely his fault. Lots of bad snaps and holds played a big part of his misses as well. Need to shore up the snap and holds, get in a dedicated ST coach and watch him flourish.
I really wish we didn’t last year have Peyton Todd aka the most clueless athlete on our team holding the snaps for him

Hope he does the summer of 10,000 kicks

Damian Ramos
The most undeappreciated Tiger. Great to have the young man back.
One bright spot on our special teams.

This is an expected but nonetheless important move. Ramos is very consistent. We all know his issues from beyond 50 which is a little strange because he’s got a decently strong leg, at least in practice which is a lot different than a game granted. His twitter has him hitting from 67 in LSU practice so you’d think he would be comfortable from at least 55 but we still have Burrell who has a monster leg if we ever need to take a very long FG.

He’s fine on short fg but very iffy on anything longer than 45 yards. Need another kicker for long fgs

We already have one, he was just a true freshman last year but still handled kickoffs. Anything longer than 49-51 yards and I’m having Burrell kick it.

Yeah Burrell was the #1 kicker coming out of HS on 247, #2 on On3. He's the future at the position (or should be).

I would like to see Burrell take over the longer kicks if he improves in the offseason
Yep...I say let him try anything 45 and out. Saw a video on IG of him kicking 60 yarder in bowl practice.
