At what point do we just blow it up and hire a coach that will build a good program? Do we give O the entire year? Does he get next year too? I’m just wondering when I can get excited again.

I'm kind of in the same boat. Disappointed with last year, but gonna wait to see what happens this year. I think it's kind of silly to look at this off-season then automatically say this team can't be successful this year.

Can't judge a coach solely on recruiting though. And dont retain a coach because of recruiting.

But I agree with waiting until this season plays out to say whether hes a failure or not.

Bottom line is he needs to win until he does or doesn't is what dictates him being fired or retained.

I’m as big of an O critic as they come, but this is on Alleva, man.

O had some disastrous games last year but not a disastrous season. Not a good season either.

You can get excited when Joe Motherfricking Alleva is fired. He should have never considered, much less hired, Orgeron as HC.

You trust that idiot to make another HC hire?

They were 1 game away from a 3-way tie for 1st place in the SEC West.

Troy game sucked but I suspect we will take those games more seriously now.

Let it play out. He’s recruiting well right now and plugging many holes in our roster.

They also could have easily lost two more games to Florida and Auburn. The what if game can be played both ways. But they didn't lose those games and they really didn't have a chance to win the West because they were not good enough to beat Bama last year.

I love your approach. Get all bent out of shape when people don't give O a chance, then aren't satisfied when they do. Makes perfect sense.

We'll see.

But let's look at the opener- we're playing Miami, which we see as a big game. But how does the rest of the world view it? Miami's ranked 8th, we're in the bottom of the rankings. We expect to win, but most others don't expect us to.

When was the last time we came into a season like that? We wanted to be top 5 again, that was the goal.
O took over a team hovering in the low teens, I'll give him this year to get back to that. If we finish where we are ranked now, this experiment is over.

Can we put a cap on posts from pussies who just whine constantly on this board? Jesus the amount of people starting dear diary topics about how hopeless everything is embarasses me.

Very close to winning 10 games n first full year. 15-5 since he took over from Les. Tough losses and weaker schedule last season but he still went 6-2 n sec play with 5 road games. He’s revamped a roster full of serious holes. Evident because so many transfers will have important roles. Every BR media outlet that’s seen practice has raved about LSU having depth compared to last season. O is doing some good things let’s give him a shot to get it done.

I caught a penguin on my trot line today.

Also read a cool piece on monkeys as well.

I’m sorry, but what have Orgeron and Alleva done to make you believe that this program will be successful with the two of them at the helm?

Hmmmm, let’s see here....

We won the bowl game last year, wait...no

We won double digit games last year, damnit, no

We have gone up in rankings, wait, frick

We have gone up in recruiting, hold on, I’ll find something

Attendance and air around the program has gone up, frick...no

We’re competing for and in the conversation for championships, I’ll be damned, not that either

We hired a big name offensive coordinator after we fired an expensive and big name offensive coordinator at the end of last season! Wait...what?! We promoted our TE coach who hasn’t called a game in 20 years and didn’t even want the job?!

Since he took over, he has 2 good wins (auburn and Louisville) and 3 bad losses (UF, miss st, Troy)

We're hanging on to mediocrity by a thread. Hope for the best, expect something much less than that.

This is where I'm at. I give him credit for getting Burrow, no doubt, and the team is absolutely stacked with playmakers.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Just waiting to see results on the field.
