Aranda has had 2 weeks to plan. I'm sure he's sick and tired of the national narrative about now, and has his plan in place.

LSU will get back some (I know, not all) of it's players in the front 7.

Moving Fulton to nickle safety is a big positive, and Flott is more than up to holding down the side opposite DS24.

Aranda has been experimenting with some zone and some man - for the purpose of the season long big picture - and many are clueless how much that has contributed to the Def's slow start.

Yes, Utah State is a very solid team with a projected first round QB in Love.

But Love is not facing the week 1-4 Tigers...

He'll be facing the 4 weeks of play, plus 2 weeks to prep, plus Aranda iteration to a much better plan...in Tiger Stadium and the heat version of LSU.

LSU 62
Utah St. 20

Geaux Tigers

Holding Utah St to 20 points I wouldn't call a break out performance.

But I think the defense breaks out at the Florida game.

I think he’s going to continue to experiment with some zone while he can.

Once he locks onto 90%+ man, it’s going to shut down the opposing offense as long as the tackling issues have been addressed.

What if 14 of those points are the result of a fumble and an interception in garbage time?

I have a wonderful novel idea, not directed just at you TchPowDog, but for the OP and for all of us, including myself:

Why don't we all just watch and see what happens?

Look, if LSU puts up 60 points the other team regardless who it is will get theres too. Yards and points are a result of being on offense. We score early and often so other schools get more chances to do the same.

A break out performance or a good representation of how the defense does, is based on statistics through the first 3 quarters.

20 points allowed and a 6 TD win is a great defensive performance.

these teams that have a good qb and run a passing offense aren't chipped beef breakfast toast. plus they will get a lot of opportunities.

I think fans should care more about the how than the what.

If Utah State ends up scoring 30, but 20 of it comes in the 4th quarter when LSU was up 49-10, I don't know how worried I'll be if the final score winds up being 66-30. (sound familiar?)

I want to believe. If we have a sound defensive performance this weekend, I will feel way more comfortable heading into the Florida game.

Really don’t think it’s a “national narrative”. In fact, I haven’t really heard anyone outside of Louisiana saying much about it.

His defense doesn’t tackle well and has miscommunication. The problems are all fixable.

By the numbers, the defense hasn't been bad at all to begin with.

There's no need to panic yet.

Sirius ESPNU, SEC Network andsny others have expressed reservation about the 2019 Tigers due to the Defense. It IS a national narrative.

I dont think I'd consider 20 points a break out performance. Around 20 is what I'd expect them to score if the defense is about the same as it was against Vandy and NWST. If the defense comes out looking to make an impact I hope they hold them to 2 scores or less. But as long as the poor tackling is improved and timing, cause it feels like we give up a score or two each game where we have a player trying to make a play on the ball, miss, and it goes for a big play/ score.
Those two things get fixed, I'll be confident in this defense.

Have ZERO confidence in Third and Aranda. Move Delpit up around the line of scrimmage like last year where a playmaker....can MAKE PLAYS!!!! Get out of that soft zone, no pressure, BS!!!!
