LSU-Clemson will be the best atmosphere since _________ (insert game here)

Definitely the most meaningful home game since 2022 Bama so yes I’d agree.

People today are creatures of the moment and ridiculously prone to hyperbole where everything is the "best ever"....until the next "best ever" soon after.

Last year LSU was ranked No. 3 after having beaten Clemson when Florida came in. The preseason hopes of at least a CFP birth were still in full effect. It was a great atmosphere. It's just forgotten due to the way the rest of the season went. If not that, then the 2024 Ole Miss game was a great atmosphere.

The anticipation for the Clemson game with a new HC and new hope to improve from the prior 3 seasons may be higher. But the atmosphere won't be much, if any, different than those two games mentioned above.

LSU-Clemson will be the best atmosphere since Florida 2025.

Change it to be best September home game atmosphere and do we need to go back to VA Tech in 2007?

Fans will want to give Clemson a taste of the real Death Valley AND to make matters worse it's Kiffin's first game as HC of LSU

Even if you do that I still think you only go back to the Florida game last year (placed on Sept. 13th). You have to remember what the feeling was at that moment. Not what it is today in hindsight of how the season went. That win @ #4 Clemson was seen as a huge win for an LSU team with championship hopes. The LSU fanbase was fired up going into that Florida game.

This is easy. Excitement level is greater than 07 Va tech. Last year vs Florida wasn't even close.

At that time LSU fans were still riding high after the Clemson win and most dismissed the LA Tech performance as kind of a "hangover" or emotional let down after the level of emphasis placed on the Clemson game. Even after the Florida game when Kelly got pissed the media asked about the offense you had the majority of posters on here bristling at those who suggested there were some worrisome signs with the offense. The majority of fans saw LSU as the No. 3 team, national championship contender DURING the game...and the atmosphere reflected it (go back and listen to the crowd when Spears got a pick 6 when it was a 13-10 game in the 3rd).

It was only AFTER the game that some grumblings of concern started due to LSU having another bad offensive performance and Clemson losing to Georgia Tech that same day after struggling with Troy the week before.

I don't disagree. But I think a lot of the luster has faded off the Clemson program. Last offseason fans couldn't stop talking about Clemson given they were seen as a NC contender. Now, the only mention of Clemson is this thread. Most fans of college football see them as the poster child of refusing to adapt to the changing times and are surprised they are even ranked in the first place. Even though Florida did have a loss ahead of the LSU game last year the fact that (a) Florida is a long time rival (Clemson isn't) and (b) had beaten LSU the year before still stoked the fire of LSU fans at that time.
