The optics are so bad on these shenanigans. It's not about the name change, it's about JBE gaining future political capital from Mary W. Louisiana politics used Dale Brown as the sacrificial lamb. If anyone believes the protocol's bs is either oblivious or is being intellectually dishonest. This whole thing stinks.

Co-Names are not unheard of aka Bryant-Denny Stadium. But the way this went down is the biggest example of rotten-arse Louisiana politics I've seen in years.

Brando and Jordy having a full-on Twitter fight currently. Brando is looking like a total arse here. I usually have no issue with Brando. I get his point of view, but his deliverable strategy in this story is kinda coo coo bird.

I used to like him, local boy done good, but when he started doing his own radio show that was simulcast here out of Shreveport...and I was exposed to him for a couple of hours at a time - kinda got more of an idea of who he really was...and it's unfortunately, a lot of what you are seeing with this Dale stuff honestly.
And Matt's tone deaf if he can't see that Timmy B is hurting more than helping as Matt really got this debate going about 3 weeks ago in defense of Dale.

shite like this makes me lose interest in LSU, not just the basketball team. It’s an awful look for the school and lsu has had a lot of them lately. Just seems like anyone with influence is taking what they can get for themselves without caring what’s best for the university, students, and alumni.

It sounds to me as if someone pulled some strings and played politics to get Dale’s name on the court initially.

Tim B is just insufferable.
And when he tries to talk about politics (or anything much beyond play by play) he is worse.
I have no axe to grind with the guy, but he is not very smart and has huge sense of self importance, so once he gets in front of a mic and talks about anything other than pure sports, he does more damage than good.
Ask somebody about Brando inserting himself in the Mayor's race in Shreveport four years ago...
And when he tries to talk about politics (or anything much beyond play by play) he is worse.

A good friend is a now retired State Trooper & he stopped Brando for speeding, 80 mph on the interstate. As he approached Brando, Brando popped out & before my friend could say a word, "Don't you know who I am?" Answer: "Yes, you're the guy who is going to jail if you don't get back in your car". Trooper friend said he's never seen, under these circumstances, someone as mad a Brando was but he shut up & did as he was told. Brando was famous / infamous for saying that at restaurants around town when he tried to get in certain places without a reservation.

I was 100% neutral on all of this until I saw how that douche Brando was flipping his shite over it. Now I hope they rename it the "Sue Gunter and frick DALE BROWN Court" to see his reaction. Well, he blocked me on Twitter, but maybe someone else will post it. God that guy sucks.

Another thing he has in common with Dale, but Dale took it a step further than Timmy B. did.
