That’s what’s so great about this team, Naz and Waters take a dip then Smart and Mays play great, days and Taylor go cold but Emmitt and Bigby go off. I’m loving every minute of it because you don’t see this very often.

I have all the games recorded, I know obsessed, but I’ll go through a couple and try to get some info to you on that just to be sure.

I do think shot selection was more an issue this game, A&M....man we missed a lot of horse 3's even in the sweet spots you correctly point out.

It’s true you never know what player is going to be the man. I just hope Waters starts going off again

What an exceptionally thought out set of concerns. Here’s my two cents. Defensive rebounding and struggles from the 3-point line.
I think the energetic style of the defense leads to missed blockout assignments. Their athleticism and size should dictate otherwise.
Since the season has progressed Wade has committed to pounding the ball inside, evidenced by their decreasing 3-point shot attempts.
Maybe this has affected our shooters confidence.
One thing for sure, this team has given us thrills surpassing our expectations. A no lower than 4 seed should be a lock and if we survive first round jitters it could get interesting.

I will say, if I'm building an NCAAT team, I want great guard play, dribble drive with finish or kick out, rebounding on every level, especially o boards, and FT shooting. That is sustainable.
The missing piece for perfection is nailing 3s at a better clip. Teams that in general rely on 3s are less consistent.

We're tied for 1st in the SEC! Quit nitpicking.

I don't understand the free throw shooting thing either
It’s to make sure you are back in defense to prevent easy baskets.

Waters had some good moments today. He should get more minutes each game.
With Waters back, does it mean that Graves won't get any minutes except in an unexpected runaway game?

quote:Yeah, despite what most people think, a good three is one that goes in and a bad three is one that misses. I have seen more insane three's go in this season, unfortunately mostly from the opposition, than any other one.
I agree up to a point Mad, I but we're missing too many good looks as well. One of the 4 we made today was a bad selection by Smart, guy all over him but it fell.
Modern players can make three's from anywhere and they shoot quickly also. A wide open shot should be easier but you never know. When was the last time LSU really had a guy who could knock down three's with regularity. Only one I can think of is Andre Stringer his last two years. We get guys who are reputed to be great at outside shooting but never seem to be consistent.

Hornsby.

If Hess would hit his free throws and Naz would throw strikes, we would be headed to the Sugar bowl. But it’s clearly the coaches fault and the fans who leave early.

Did Graves play? I didn’t see him today

We are who we are at this point, reminds me a lot of the heat when the big 3 played there. A team that didnt take the 3 often but drove and slashed with labron and wade (who smart reminds me of) and got open looks to bosh (reid has a simular game) and they won a couple of championships with that formula. You don't need to drop 3's like the warriors to win championships.

Another concern/superstition—We won’t run the table all the way to the national championship game(I hope I’m wrong), so where would you want to take the loss? Fla, Vandy or where in the SEC Tourney? My best case scenario would be to lose the SEC Championship tourney game.

All 4 of our bigs foul like ive never seen before. Especially Darrius Days. He can have no fouls with 2 minutes left in the first half, and then go into half with 3. Happened a couple times this year already.
Naz gets unfair fouls called against since he is so big.
KBW is getting better at going up.
Williams isnt as bad, but still fouls a shite ton.

The best thing this team has to credit is the tourney tempo style of play. The guys have gained so much confidence by Coach Wade letting them play more freely than we’re accustomed to seeing. They’ve won with it! I’m am expecting to see some unexpected shyt over the next month though. This team also has a legit five players who can take over a tournament game. That’s impressive, yeah?!
Analysts have taken notice!
