This season 14 errors and a 931% in 55 games.
If you go by that it seems as if he improved!

LSU baseball this March wasn’t quite like LSU baseball in the past. If PM or Skip had been at the helm, yes they have some history of peaking at end of season. Johnson is new. Had no idea how he was going to do. You can throw me under the bus all you want but I’m guessing others were questioning things too. Yes I was wrong.

What we do know from past experience is that what college baseball teams do in conference in late April and May is what is important, not what they're doing in February and March.

And guys like the OP will never remember all the times they were wrong. They’ll say “ugh this always happens! We always do this” every time they lose or something doesn’t go perfect.

Mainieri was an infield/defensive guru. Last year was one of his worst defensive teams in his coaching career which is directly attributable to his health and inability to physically coach his players like he used to.
Going from that to a coach that specializes in offensive prowess was bound to have some negative effects in the field.
Jay has to fix that but it is fixable.

I admitted I was wrong but that doesn't seem to matter to most on this board. This board wants to rub crap in. I have followed LSU Sports since the 70's. I've seen the good and the bad. I've seen the hey-day of Arnsparger, Saban and the early days of Miles. I've also seen the days of Hallman and Dinardo. I saw the 90's in baseball... Skip's hey-day. I've seen the ups and downs. And I still love LSU.
