Kling will most definitely be one of our starting outfielders probably takes over CF

The lineup and playing time will work itself out
The portal brings another dynamic in play and the days of playing fr and letting them figure it out during sec play are over
You saw that this past season
Kling, Neal and Jones all had their moments but all hit that wall during sec play
Jay has always said it's his job to put the best product out there and if every other sec team is recruiting portal players than he's gonna do the same thing
At some point it may impact your recruiting of high school players but that's why Jay gets paid a million a year to figure it all out and put the best lineup he can out on the field
At the end of the day for those players that don't earn the job on the field they can hit the portal too

Kling isn’t promised anything if he doesn’t hit. They will find someone else

If you understand this, then how come you announced that you were no longer an LSU fan before the season ended?

Kling will have every chance. He will have to play himself out of the lineup.

CJJ doesn't promise any one playing time but he's said, repeatedly, that Kling is LSU's next super star.

Kling was a similarly rated prospect as Crews coming out of high school.
The two biggest reasons he didn’t get more playing time as a freshman were because of our outfield depth and an injury he had mid-season.
From a pure talent standpoint, he’ll be our most talented outfielder next year. If he stays healthy, I don’t see how he’s not one of the three starting outfielders next year.
Ive already said Kling will be the starting CF in February wether he makes the whole year there i dont know. Its up to him. If he doesnt hit i dont see him there at the end of the year.

How does that statement uniquely apply to Kling. Are there other players on the roster who will start if they don’t hit?

He's moving the goalposts, because his original points of:

If Frey shows he can hit i think Kling goes to the bench. Frey,Mac, and Pearson in the outfield
quote:were extremely stupid. It is absolutely not "between Kling and Frey for the last outfield spot." It is Paxton Kling in center field first, then you figure out the rest later.
they he stays in the lineup. Its between Kling and Frey for the last outfield spot. Pearson is not going anywhere. Now if Travinski doesnt come back then Frey can DH and Kling will be your everyday CF.

Pearson and Kling are everyday guys.
Frey could beat out Mac and no one would be mad.

Why would Mac leave the Arizona to come here and not start?
He is going to be in the field opening day. He isn’t a back up plan type portal acquisition

I don't think you understand the type of player you are getting with Mac. He had an OPS of 1.006 last year, that would have been top 5 on our NC team. He also had an average of .360, that would have been top 3 on NC our team. He's had 672 ABs in his career, that's a ton of experience that will be added to a younger roster.
I expect Mac to be in the opening day lineup.

I said Kling starts what part of that dont you understand. Is he there at the end of the year i dont know. I do know Pearson and Mac are the corner OF's and they have more leeway than Kling does if either one doesnt hit.

Mac is more like a White or Berry type of transfer. He will start.

Exactly and it will likely be somewhere in the field.
The DH spot is likely going to revolve into freshmen/sophomores since they aren’t draft eligible and guys like belly that weren’t going pro.
I think we will see less and less draftable guys at DH unless an injury happens.

I'm not saying he won't start but he is nothing like a White or Berry type transfer. If he was, he would have gotten drafted before this point of his career. Montgomery is the White or Berry type that LSU is targeting.

Based on what? If none of them are hitting, they’ll try other guys on the roster. If they can’t find anyone to hit, they are in trouble anyway, but there’s no reason to suspect they wouldn’t fall back on potential and/or defense at that point, both of which favor Kling. You’re just trying desperately to justify your negative impression of Kling. Like any other player, he’s going to have to produce to play, but you are drawing conclusions from a small sample size during a freshman year de-railed by injury.
