If he is so qualified, why not hire him as full-time AD? (I don't want this but the logic behind allowing him to hire the coach is ludicrous.)

Almost sounds like it was Verge’s decision to cut Kelly loose. He was pissed talking about an empty Tiger Stadium. I’m sure that’s what he was pointing out to Kelly after the game last week.

What worries me is them coming to an agreement with say, Lane, and then the Governor grandstanding and opposing the contract

Sounds like that's what the boosters and donors want. Since they're supplying the money for the program.
