It makes perfect sense then.
Look, I get your frustration, but I also see Jones' strategy as well. It makes sense, then, for there to be less premium tickets available in Cowboy Stadium,
advance sales for Cowboy's season ticket holders was back in April.....there should have been time to put the word out on the ticket allocation....
this just gives me another reason to totally detest Jerry Jones and the Cowboys in general....

Wah! Wah! Wah! Just spend the extra $200-$300 a seat and quit bitching...you can find great seats for between $400-$500 ...if that's too much then watch it on tv...sorry but you are just going to have to pay to have good seats for a top 5 matchup

We've been seeing top 5 matchups in Tiger Stadium the last few years and people have their good Tiger Stadium seats for less than that PLUS it's a true home game.

This is the map I saw on LSUsports.net. While it does show the majority of LSU's seating to be in the uppers, I believe it somewhat gives a false impression that there was more seating within the lower sections available to LSU. That being said, the way you had to go about requesting tickets (based on the highest priced level you would accept as opposed to having the option to decline uppers) gave fans no options to opt out of the upper tickets. The reason for that is obvious, LSU wanted to sell all the seats. I can see how people could be upset. On the other hand, I've been dealing with TAF long enough to know if you are expecting everything to be as it appears, you are naive at best.

The seat map wasn't just released this week. It was definitely attached to the original article back in January. The current one could very well have been edited, someone would have to check the archives on lsusports.net to see, but the map has been available throughout the process.

to hell with texas and texans in general....we've had more top ranked matchups in tiger stadium over the last few years than all the texas schools combined!!!!!
TAF, the Athletic Department, and the LSU administration deserve every degree of heat they are getting on this one....full disclosure would have gone a long way to prevent what you are seeing here.....
saturday tailgates for an important night game are getting fewer and fewer....considering this year's home schedule, the season ticket holders who got crap seats compared to what they have in tiger stadium have every reason in the world to complain....

I completely agree with you Butch!
BTW, how are you doing? I've booked a flight and hotel for this game but... I don't have tickets. We've got several of us from Southern California planning to make the trip there (it's become a regular thing for several of us from here to go to the first game of the year). Anyway, maybe we'll finally get to meet!

I'm sure serious consideration was given when weighing the benefits of accepting a game of this magnitude compared to providing folks with an additional opportunity to get drunk and act a fool on campus. In the end, it probably came down to a coin toss.

LAT, doing well.....working several sources for tickets...part of my problem is that i need 3...i'm really irritated with that clown that says pay the extra 400 per seat.....i hope all of them get taken to the cleaners on this one....

Last night just for kicks I went back and looked at the first e-mails LSU sent out to promote this game and in the seating chart nowhere did it denote most of the premium seats being taken by Cowboy season ticket holders. It was basically just the sections/prices, where a reasonable person would construe they had a legit chance at getting good seats.

Houston, New Orleans, and Tampa don't even have a season opening game, so I fail to see how another city in the South could've hosted this one.
Actually, I live in Houston and They do have an opening game in Reliant Stadium. it's not as high profile, but from what I hear, it's supposed to involve Texas or Texas A&M vs. Rice or Houston every year.
I know it's not national TV but they still have a game bro.

Just put in the time and I can promise you there will be tickets for close to face outside the game the day of......
If you don't think this then you have never been to major sporting events in your life.
The stadium seats 100,000 freaking people, there will be tickets...use your brains.
Or save the $400, use it on strippers and a steak while you watch it on big screens.....
BTW, you WILL spend another $200 while inside that greedy mother frickers stadium....

You didn't have to flip me off to get your point across. I understand your frustrations, but my dad always told me if something seemed too good to be true, it usually is. This game is in the stadium if one of the dirtiest mother frickers on this planet, it has 2 top 5 "sexy" teams in the Dallas metroplex. College football is big business and you should know better than to think you're getting sideline tickets at $200 with your 2k a year contribution to TAF.
People can laugh at me for spending outrageous money on tickets, but you won't see me starting threads complaining about ticket prices, etc. I mean I'll pay whatever I have to, to watch a game this epic.

Not for this game. It will be closer to 80k.

It ONLY involves TX schools, so, in that case, it's apples/oranges.

when a person has a priority point total in the upper 2xxx's, requests 2 tickets, and recieves them (2) in the nose bleed, you have to question the distribution and allocation methodology.

How were the tickets distributed for the Cotton Bowl? I heard that the Cotton Bowl tickets were a hell of a lot better in general (as far as you got what you requested).

Pisses me off as well. This isn't like the last two opening games. Atlanta was well done and I had great seats for that game that were less than the nosebleeds for this game. The trip to Washington was special. So good to see a little less than half the crowd cheering for the Tigers and the hordes that descended upon Seattle. Another great time as well.
All of this has been poorly executed by the athletic department and Joe Alleva is starting to piss off more and more of us.
BTW, glad you're doing well and I'm looking for 10 tickets for part of our group. We have about 50 or so that I know of that will be making the trip to Dallas.
