This is HUGE! I made a post about how bad we needed a new punter a couple weeks ago:

Needed someone to battle Badger Hargett in the spring. Guessing only one gets the scholarship…unless this transfer already came with that offer

This is really good news. It wasn’t talked about this year but are punting was AWFUL

43.4 yard avg punt? That’s not good enough.
LSU needed a punter but is this guy even an upgrade? His stats aren’t much better than Todd.

Yeah, I posted a couple of days ago that I looked at the punting stats of LSU vs every opponent's punter in the game. Only in the Nichols State game did LSU punt better than their guy. In most of the games, LSU was outpunted between 8 and 12 yard PER punt. If you exchange punts 4 times say, that is the equivalence of 4 first downs over the course of the game...that is huge!

Punting averages are really skewed when you take into account Todd only punted in long punt situations and never tried to pin the opposing team. You have to look at punts downed inside the 20 as well as net to even try and draw a conclusion on how good of a punter he is. That affects average dramatically. Top in sec this year was only 48.0
