LSU 58 @ College of Charleston 70 - FINAL
Posted on 11/30/15 at 12:02 pm

Who: LSU Tigers (3-2) vs College of Charleston Cougars (3-2)
When: Monday, November 30th - 6:00pm central time
Where: TD Arena (5,100, 230th largest in D-1) - Charleston, SC
How:
***TV: NONE (Only game this year)
***Radio: 98.1FM
***Stream: Streamed for free by C of C at - portal.stretchinternet.com/charleston/
Tigers have now lost 2 in a row however they have only lost regulation by only 1 point (2007 football type stat there). They look to get back on track against a College of Charleston team that has wins over South Carolina St, Navy, and Western Carolina. They lost on the road to Davidson by only 1 point and were beat by Coastal Carolina by 6 at home last week.
Projected Starting Lineups:
College of Charleston:
3 Payton Hulsey 6'5" 215 Jr - 22.6Min/gm, 3.8PPG, 4.2RPG, 3.0APG
12 Cameron Johnson 6'4" 196 Jr - 28.2Min/gm, 13.2PPG, 4.2RPG, 1.6APG
24 Canyon Barry 6'6" 210 Jr - 33Min/gm, 21.0PPG, 4.0RPG, 1.0BPG
15 Terrance O'Donohue 6'7" 227 Jr - 17Min/gm, 3.6PPG, 3.8RPG, 0.4SPG
5 Jarrell Brantley 6'7" 245 Fr - 23Min/gm, 7.2PPG, 6.0RPG, 1.0APG
The Cougars rely on Canyon Barry for a huge percentage of their scoring. He plays as a 6'6" shooting forward, so it will be important for LSU's perimeter to play strong on him. He only shoots 33% from deep but he gets to the FT line and can attack from anywhere on the court.
He is currently taking 37.1% of the shots when in the game. That is 6th highest in the NCAA.
LSU will combat the Cougars with a lot of Ben Simmons. While Coach Jones loves Ben Simmons ability to pass, he has acknowledged that Simmons needs more shots. He only took 6 shots in LSU's overtime loss to NC State last week and if LSU looks to improve moving forward, they will need to get him more scoring opportunities.
This is LSU's only game of the year not on television, but Charleston will have a free live feed available (link in header).
LSU will need to rebound in a big way from last weeks 0-2 debacle. It's not time to cry 'sky-is-falling', especially with two starters remaining on the sideline with injury (Keith Hornsby) and eligibility (Craig Victor) but LSU needs to improve moving forward.
Prediction:
LSU PPP: 1.08
CofC PPP: 0.98
Possessions: 72
LSU 78, College of Charleston 71

Charleston is the home team, so we have to go by CAA media rules. The CAA doesn't have a TV deal like the SEC.

Team is gonna be fun to watch but needs some inside presence in the worst way. I hope Victor is the real deal.

I'm honestly very nervous about this game. We should win, but it'll be a battle because of a rowdy atmosphere I expect. After losing 2 in NYC, I view this as virtually a must win just to allow some wiggle room in sec play.

Should be a big crowd, there weren't many tickets left when I ordered mine. The lower sections were completely sold out.

Just got a major sad. Figured it'd be on Watch ESPN at least.

There is the stream available as stated above. I got confirmation from Charleston's twitter that it is free. I'm not sure how good it'll look, especially with more streams than usual, but here's to hoping it looks okay.

-CofC's arena is actually much nicer than the PMAC

I'd say sometime in next two weeks. He's been rehabbing ahead of schedule. Should be soon.

I'll be there too CheerWhine! Heading down that way in a little while. My daughter goes to CoC.

This is one of those games that is a mystery why it was scheduled. I still remember Trent's best team going there and losing to Coastal Carolina. It is one of those games that will be a horrible, total disaster to lose and no credit at all unless you win big. And this team beat North Carolina back in 2010 so it could happen.
Here's hoping our three ball shooters are on.
