Then hiring O was like marrying your secretary after, she was good for a bang but offered no substance.

Was at that game against A&M.. I remember it feeling like the most appropriate end to his coaching tenure after a very underwhelming and disappointing season. The way he got carried off the field it really was that Rudy moment where it was giving him thanks and recognition for bringing a natty to LSU (8 years before)... But then for some reason dumb frick AD decides to go Hollywood and gives him another sequel to the same shite movie we saw the last 5 years.

And then we had all those promises of change going into Lambeau and NOPE. Same ol shite. Such an incredible trip but one of the most frustrating games under his tenure. Everyone knew he was a dead man walking after that loss to Wisconsin.

I thank my lucky stars I had already been to a game at Lambeau with my father in like 2012 so that itch was scratched before Harris forgot there was even a barnyard door in Wisconsin in 2016.
God Dang what a nightmare.
Those are the crazy games I keep in memory so to remember why we eventually ran him because he was no doubt a likable guy. I don’t think anything can be more frustrating following your team than continuing to play down to competition with elite athletes.

That 2016 team could have been so special.

I would've donated my left testicle for record like that from 1990-1994 when I was a student.

2013 was a cruel season because we actually had a legit offense that year, but the defense was sooo bad.

2012- decent season. Lost to Florida in an ugly game but responded nicely by beating a good South Carolina. Tough loss to bama and a really dumb “from the jaws of victory” loss to clemson which kind of kickstarted their run.

2013- decent passing game at last which coincided with the defense taking a step back (of course). Pretty forgettable “good” season

2014- Terrible on offense. Defense was pretty good. Should’ve beat bama.

2015- always knew that start was fool’s gold. Exposed vs bama. Miles swore he’d change.

2016- Miles did not change

What? 2012 is the best 3 loss team in the last 25 years.
They lost a heartbreaker against the gumps and the bowl game to Clemson. Who else beat these teams after 2012?

2014 they had the playoff bound gumps beat with Anthony Jennings, who may have been the worst QB in the entire FBS, under center. What coach could do that? Ridiculous personal foul call against Vadal Alexander.

2016, Miles had talked 3 or 4 guys into coming back to win a Championship. Again, who else could do that? The roster was loaded with NFL players. They lose to a terrific Wisconsin team 14-16 in game 1 at Lambeau. Harris looked great all spring and fall and Miles almost had to start him.
Then they lose to another terrific team, Auburn, 13-18 again on the road, with Etling throwing the game winner to DJ Chark, the world thought.

Miles was being undermined by his gutless boss, Joe Alleva at every turn. The real question is how did Alleva last that long. What a complete POS.

In retrospect, it certainly feels like Purgatory. Can't remember anything notable. How did he last so long?

O was here for 71 games. That included 2 years of Burrow.

51–20 overall 31–17 SEC. His QBs (that actually made an appearance in a game aside from Joe Burrow included Danny Etling, Myles Brennan, TJ Finley, Max Johnson, and Garrett Nussmeier. I don't think I missed anyone.

Miles' last 71 games. 53-18 overall 29-14 SEC (2020 skewed O's SEC total) His QBs in that time included Jordan Jefferson, Jarrett Lee, Zach Mettenberger, Anthony Jennings, Brandon Harris, and Danny Etling.

Miles' last years we not great by any stretch but a lot of that is attributable to a lack of QBs plus his archaic offensive philosophy (Which may have been partially due to him not getting decent QBs, a run-centric offense wins a lot of games if you have great RBs and great defense). With Mett his offense looked different than any time after 2007.

I would have taken a Les Miles year in either of the last two years, TBH. He was not a bad coach, just was not up with the times.

But all that came together to get us what we have now. If anything happens any other way, who knows what happens?

2012 we were a screen away for another championship. 2013 we had at the tie a record setting offense that Chavis wasted. 2014 sucked. 2015 we had LF7 going off every week until Bama stole our soul. It was a good time until the Bama game pretty much every year.

If you couldn't find any good memories back then, that's a you problem.

I don't know about this. I can't speak for all of Tiger Nation but I certainly had championship hopes in 2012/2013 with Mett, OBJ, and Landry. Also again in 2015 when Lenny was going off and in the Heisman convo. Of course Miles' true colors showed in the Bama games and seasons melted down after the Bama loss. But, going into November, there was certainly thoughts we could win it all, at least for me.

a lot of those wins were cupcakes.

Here are our SEC records those years:

6-2
5-3
4-4
5-3
1-1

Total: 21-13

And remember, those rosters were loaded with elite talent, so Les definitely underachieved those years.

The first series of the Wisconsin opener was a GIANT middle finger to Alleva and the fans.

I think 1/9/12 was the beginning of the end for Miles. Its like Saban cucked us and we just never could recover.

21 pass attempts
7 offensive points
14 first downs
2-10 on third down
under 300 total yards
under 150 passing yards
3 turnovers
botched end of game and clock management

And because the man never learned a lesson, he went out at Auburn botching the end of another game.

Because there is a safe zone, after winning a NC, in the 7-9 wins per year category created by Admins and contracts.
