The answer to your question is Urban Meyer. He's the only slam dunk, guaranteed title. The downfall is he would likely be temporary. But frick it... let him come be the 4th in a tow to win, and he can cement his place is history by being the only coach to win a title at 3 schools. Plus the Florida melts will be glorious.

I agree...we should give up.

I mean we won titles with Les Miles and Ed Orgeron at the helm!

But what’s a bigger gamble, hiring coach X or keeping O?

Right now, we are looking at the cliff on our offensive line play and recruiting. I have no confidence Coach O will be able to hire coaches to fix it next year.

Hiring a new coach at least gives a sense of "he's just getting started" vibe that doesn't totally tank the fan base confidence (which is already shaky, IMHO).

It's certainly possible that the next coach will be a failure. I'm not sure it's possible for Orgeron to fix this and make this program a success again.

I’ll pose the same question I posed when people called for Les Miles head.

All of your points might be valid until you get to this, ok was firing Miles the right thing or the wrong thing to do??? And remember we won a Naty after firing Miles!!!

Who is that? We have expectations that are higher than giraffe pussy. Which coaches currently meet that criteria? Last time we picked the D line coach. The wheels are falling off now.

Lot of random names thrown out here that don’t come close to those measurables.

This has been my point for a long time. Every time I hear those LSU is a top 3-5 job I ask so where is our top 3-5 coach hire??? crickets.

Just FWIW, I am not defending O because I believe he has dug himself a hole he cant get out of - not with the fans but with the state of the program.

O doesn’t get anymore hires. He has struck out badly on all of them and has cost LSU probably close to $10 Mil in buyouts. You are stuck with this staff next year if he gets another one.

Maybe, but the guy I'm thinking of isn't the biggest football fan. I would be surprised if he was on TD. Do you have an unhealthy obsession with dirt bikes and jet skis?

Look at the remaining schedule

Show me how he gets to 8 wins
Show me how he gets to 7 wins
Show me how he gets to 6 wins

I'm gonna believe T-Bob when he says the O-line is terrible. I think the wheels come off because the players gotta know this staff is inept.

Defense is better. Max is serviceable. No run game. O line is shite. Every team left save ULM can beat us. Even Aggy will probably get their together by late November.

No excuse but Jimbo, Mullen and Dabo are all having bad years. Are their fan bases going crazy?

The problem is that our team doesn't look like it knows how to play football.

LSU has to be able to beat a bad Auburn team at home, there is no excuse for this loss plain and simple.

Yes, LSU is a top 5 job. Name me one other program that has won a national championship with its last 3 Head Coaches? Answer: None.

Alleva was a horrific AD. I think everyone can all agree with that. Woodward has done pretty damn well with all his HC hires here since being hired, don’t you think? I have full faith that he will make an excellent hire when O is fired.

Imagine being okay with hovering around .500 for over a year going on two years and saying LSU fans are too greedy and their expectations are too high. Lol frick you

All of this is in your head.

The team is hot garbage. And I’m not a fan of the product. And I support canning O.

The future hinges on meeting those expectations. Anything less and the program is once again underachieving.

Last go around, a bad coach was selected. This time, find one who can do it. Point being, there are very few who can. It won’t be easy to meet expectations.

Nah my unhealthy obsessions come in the form of high end whiskey and wine.

Never had a bad time on a jet ski though.

Question I have is what does this team look like with a decent o-line. O fired Cregg right before the season which contributed to the line being in disarray. Ingram said so. If we keep Cregg, maybe this team and results are different. O seems to have these knee jerk reactions that hurt the team. Little things make a significant difference. Look at Clemson this year. I’m sure they aren’t being coached differently and the talent is there, but they are missing something. I don’t like some of O’s decisions, but I don’t have faith in any coach outside of Saban to do better.
