Yes, controlled burning is a common practice that kills the underbrush and scrub making it safer from unplanned fires and and the strong trees are unaffected.

It's the natural mindset of kids that have been told for years "if you come to LSU for three years you will be ready for the NFL". That has been their only goal in coming here.

Now they being told the honest truth, to make in the NFL they need to put in more work. They need to prepare themselves for life if the NFL doesn't work out.

They just feel they deserve their shot at the NFL.

Stingley will drop to the 2nd round the way Greedy did, maybe lower, because of his history of being injury prone. NFL teams will hesitate to take him.

They wouldn’t get drafted a year later either.

If Flott gained 15 pounds of muscle, he would absolutely be drafted and probably early.

If Hines lost 30 pounds, he would improve significantly and have a shot at the NFL.

Doesn’t matter

Most of these guys aren’t going to improve their draft stock. Most have or are on track to graduate.

You get the chance to stop going to class, focus only on football, make a little money from an agent, and if you get drafted that’s great, or if you make a practice squad you make $9K/week. Not a bad deal.

We have to trust that Kelly will change the climate. That's what good coaches do. Coach O kept shooting from the hip. Obviously that didn't work.

The entire system is broken. No one is looking out for the kids, its the wild west and most are under the influence of third party handlers who do not have their best interest in mind.

Baskerville, TDP, Hines, Lewis are day 3 picks at best, if at all.

No disrespect to those guys, but another year would have helped each of them

Another year might have helped Baskerville. No way another year helps Hines or TDP. Those guys are fully developed NFL ready players who WILL make rosters.

This might be old age setting in but who is Lewis?

Makes your wonder who tells these players to leave college and try to go pro....

Is it their aunteees? Pastors?
Community organizers?

You'll have uncles, aunts, coaches, preachers, teachers all giving these kids advise and trying to be their "handler."

Fulton nearly went 3rd round and he was as legit and proven as a college CB could be

I don't agree. Fulton is doing well, so he's proving me a little wrong. I had some doubts about Fulton. In his time at LSU he was a master at hand fighting and clinging to receivers - borderline pass interference stuff that he was called on a lot - but I noticed he never made plays above his shoulder pads. I was worried he would not translate to an NFL starter. I expected him to make a roster, though. I can see why teams passed on him in the first two rounds.

Hines, Baskerville, and Lewis only have eligibility from COVID. They've put their years in and frankly, they are who they are at this point. We should wish them well with no ill will.

But even if Baskerville did declare, 3 of those 6 aren’t going undrafted.

I agree. Sting is top 5. Clark is bordering 1st.

Ingram has too much potential to pass on.

The only one I see possibly going undrafted is TDP

I don’t think Lewis has eligibility at all. He’s a 6th year senior (2016-2021).

The fact that people see that he declared for the draft and immediately go “he’s making a mistake, should have come back” tells you all you need to know about tRant’s evaluations.

End of days must be upon us! Without reservation, I am in agreement with Penrod! Oh well, blessed are the Cheesemakers...
