It’s not like either game was a blowout.

It was 6-3 combined score. Seemed like pretty damn solid team, we were just better.

I hope we take a look at Flukey in the portal. That kid is fantastic. Already a round 1 arm and could vault himself into the 1.1 discussion by coming here to develop under Yeskie and in the SEC for a year

Morrison actually pitched great until that meltdown inning. That one was really weird. Don't know what happened there it was almost like the audio thing he was complaining about ate him up that inning because his pitch sequence was weird and LSU was on the pitches. He kinda pooped his pants that inning. Before that he was rolling.

Morrison got barreled up at least once every single inning lol. We were right on him, and the flood gates opened once the barrels stopped finding gloves.

This has been discussed & dissected thoroughly

Morrison was their Friday night starter from the start of Sunbelt play to the end of the regular season

They pushed him back to Saturday/#2 for the Sunbelt tourney throughout the post season.

Morrison had the better record but Flukey is the bigger draft prospect. They proved to have a 1a/1b situation similar to the tigers

We barreled him up pretty well. We hit him hard.

not trying to trash their team, the announcers just built them up pretty high and I didn't see most of that, other than their first starter.

To be fair, the high praise was probably warranted after rolling into the CWS Finals on a 2 month long winning streak.

However, judging by the antics of their coach, and Morrison's "not a whole lot" comment, maybe they got too cocky. Or maybe they simply had a down weekend against a better team. They just didn't perform. I think they were 0-12 with RISP over the two games.

I think the wind actually helped them more than LSU. LSU was a much better homerun team, probably looking at blowouts in a hitter friendly situation.

100%. LSU missed out on at least 2 HRs in game 1, possibly 3 just to straight RF due to wind. Conversely, they really didn’t even hit anything hard off of Kade at all. And one of their HRs in game 2 just so happened to be put in the only spot on the field that the wind was actually helping batters. A 91mph exit velo pop up is not normally going over the wall

When Bear came out and hit the homerun after the UCLA game resumed, it kind of felt like this team would be hard to stop.

Not even a week ago and alternate history already being made. Jones HR against UCLA was in B1, well before the game restarted in the 4th inning 15+ hours later

Little Rock felt tougher than these baws TBH

The games were close scoreboard wise, but they didn't really feel that close to me.

Teams that get hot at the right time are very hard to deal with. That batter Cano from Little Rock nearly won them the Baton Rouge regional because the ball looked like a beach ball to him while batting. He got hot at the right time and LSU's pitching gave them a bunch of free base runners just before he came to the plate. He was a monster that weekend.

Then Evans came in and made the difference for LSU.

I have seen us do to ACEs what we did Sunday over and over again in the post season. I have also seen us go up against 5.00+ ERA guys and make them look like Cy Young. This seems to happen no matter the coach at LSU and no matter the team.

It seems like teams have a better chance of beating us with someone who can't touch 90.

But... Saturday's guy was making us look like fools at the plate the whole game.

The catcher was good. Their bullpen and their Saturday starter were excellent and completely shut us down. Their ace was in his head and I think the moment was just too big for him. The rest of their team didn't look all that great

The tv announcers had coastal carolina buttplugs inserted both games.

Reasonable post getting 50:50 ratioed.

(Rhetorical Question for Rantards: Why do we want to brag about beating an “average at best” team for the Title?)

They got 2 hard hit HR

You had me until this. Their first HR was hit 92 mph off the bat. That is not a hard hit ball by any means. LF just had a jet stream that pushed the ball out.

Coastal had a good pitching staff and deserve credit for that but their offense is an opportunistic offense not a good offense. The second HR was hit better at 108 but it also just barely left the park and was helped by the wind. They were able to take advantage of lifting the ball to LF unlike us but the game should have ended 5-2 not 5-3. The first HR was a fluke.
