SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey announces games will not be rescheduled this fall due to COVID. It is up to teams to get vaccinated. If they don't have enough, they may have to forfeit.

Six of 14 SEC teams have reached the 80% vaccination threshold, he said.

If a team reaches a 85% vaccination rate, they don't have to go through testing or masking in buildings.

Anyone know if we are one of the six teams? Just curious. I'm guessing that's not the kind of info that's readily available but I'm sure there's a list somewhere

I know the team is still requiring masks and such around practice and facilities, so it seems like we havent reached the 85%

Thanks - didn't know that. Now I'm super curious which are the six teams. I'd guess Vandy and Mizzou only based on their respective locations.. couldn't hazard a guess at the other four tbh.

Bama is likely one of them. They were almost at the threshold back in May. I would imagine they are there now

Dan Mullen seems like the kind of guy who could somehow convince 80% of his players to get it

Bama is getting the waiver whether they are at 85% or not. Believe that.

I'm sure this announcement pushes some of the other programs to get there. You're at a serious disadvantage if you're having to go through testing and other programs are not.

Since they have a competent head coach, I’m sure they’re doing everything they can to be prepared and to be as successful as possible.

Not sure why everyone shits on that. It’d be great if LSU’s program had near that kind of leadership and preparedness for every situation.

They are probably at 30% but reported 90%.

Those dudes better be lined up immediately to get the vaccination. Look at MLB where even among vaccinated players, testing is forcing asymptomatic players to be forced into quarantine protocols.

If the choice is to get vaccinated or face being tested and potentially put into quarantine for asymptomatic players who otherwise wouldn't even be flagged...get the damn vaccine. The testing is a real pain in the arse that creates unnecessary headaches. Avoid having to do the testing.

There is no god damn way the SEC would EVER force Bama to forfeit a game

Doesn't matter if they hit the vaccination % or not

Let's just tell them if they get vaccinated, no weed testing either! That should get us over the threshold easy!

That sounds very scientific.

Are they still going to test vaccinated players? Or enforce contact tracing to vaccinated players?

If they want to help themselves, their families, and their team, they should get vaccinated.
