"Many voters have decided to give their vote to either Bo Nix or Michael Penix. "

The ballots are being distributed today. The four finalists who will get the trip to NYC will be announced next Monday.

It's not simply a matter of who a voter gives his first place vote. Because it's a points system, each voter's 2nd and 3rd place choice may prove to be pivotal this year when a close race is possible. But maybe even more critical, which of the most likely top 4 (Daniels, Nix, Penix, Harrison, Jr.) is which player(s) will be left off their top 3 choices entirely, which means 0 points.

Since every vote has to list 3 players, those voters who have a strong preference for either Daniels or Nix could easily omit the other player from their choices and , in effect, amplify their vote for whichever one they do want to win.

MAYBE if Washington beats Oregon again he will get it. Let's hope voters are split in west with nix and phenix.

If Washington wins, you can bet Penix will move up a lot of people list and very well could give JD a boost.

Yeah it’s basically over. I bet most of the voters already cast their vote for Bo before they even play this weekend anyways

Jerry Stovall was the first LSU player to be screwed on the Heisman voting.

Ironically, another LSU vs. PAC (10) 12 situation in '62

No Penix is out of it. He will be top 5 and get an invite to the ceremony but it's Nix or JD.

All Bo nix has to do is simply win against Washington.

Nix is NOT the best player in college football.

Most people outside of the media voters know who the best player is, if Nix wins, it means the Heisman is more about the team wins than individual achievement. It will also be a useless award .

It will be talked about for years about how the voters picked the wrong guy. Like Manning/Woodson

Furthermore, some things I have heard included the rumor that the Heisman committee didn't want to reward LSU with two players of the same position only three years apart....Bily Cannon in 1959. Very similar reasoning here.

Honestly, I think JD5 gets is because he will dominate the Southern vote. I think the Pacific will split their guys.

That’s true about Jerry Stovall deserving the Heisman, but not receiving it. Another Tiger who I think deserved it was Charlie Alexander.

I feel like resentment by the media toward Brian Kelly is being taken out on Daniels.

Lot of negativity in here. If voters submit their vote before the conf champions then Jayden should be the leader in the clubhouse. If they wait until Monday, many of them will probably select nix

Daniels has more than enough ground to lose and still win the Heisman handily.

If true, the Heisman is just a popularity contest and really doesn't mean anything.

I guess common sense in this case is relative.

For me it's the voters who are not using common sense if this is the case, and the folks who set the odds are counting on that.

I think most people understand that....they just don't agree with it or like it.

Media is NOT anti-JD5. TV commentators promote whoever is in the game they are covering or in the conference they cover.

I was in South Carolina this past week and the people who spoke to me when I had my LSU shirt on said JD was the best player. I had Bama fans tell me he should get it.

I said the same thing as you. Playing at 11am against the OSU vs Michigan game and not playing next week while check down Bo does will hurt.

I did not say they were, I just said they were not using common sense.

Our defense’s inability to get off the field in the first half did this on Saturday
