They already said it's Bama, great choice. Personally, I went to a non-conference game at UGA to do this, and everyone there said "It's not a big game, don't expect too much." UGA was playing Kent State, I believe.

It is a celebration of life more than anything. Hopefully it's a nice day weather wise (Oct-November) but if not oh well. Enjoy the little things like the sounds (music, laughter, fight songs), the smells (great food, bbq grill smoke, sweet bourbon), sights (purple and gold, flags whipping in the wind, beautiful women, kids rolling down hills etc, The aura of Tiger Stadium).
Breakfast at Louie's Cafe
Lunch at Chimes
Drinks at Walk-ons before and/or after game

What recommendations do you have as "must do" since i'm guessing this might be a one time thing (unless one of our kids ends up attending LSU).
What advice would you give for a group like ours for eating & having a few drinks before the game (none of us are heavy drinkers anymore).
Any feedback will be great, thank you very much!
Provide a brief bio info on group and previous trips etc so we know what is unique for your Tigerbait experience...
Like, whats your teams to follow, geographic origin, previous road trips

To those that asked, we are coming November 9th for the game against Alabama. If its 100 degrees in November, well, that's just bad luck
Word to the wise. If LSU/Bama is a top 10 matchup there will be in excess of 200K on campus that day for tailgating and game. I would fully expect ABC/ESPN to night game this one especially after the last Bama game at LSU. Restaurants will be packed and hotels will be swamped. Needless to say traffic will be an abomination.
Another oddity, It is open container legal (non driving of course) for miles around the stadium but alcohol is not readily obtainable around the campus grounds unless you bring it or attend a tailgate. You can buy it around the stadium though or off campus.

Stay in one of the nice hotels downtown (Watermark, Hotel Indigo, Hilton, etc). Buy a bus ticket to the game at your hotel. Buses start three hour before kickoff. If you wanna go out to campus earlier than 3 hours before kickoff, uber to campus and ride the bus back downtown (on your prepurchased ticket)

Please do not listen to this. If you try to get to an LSU/Bama game 3 hours before kickoff you will do yourself a major injustice. You'll miss out on 75% of what makes this trip unique.

First off, glad you guys are coming down! Secondly, others have made some great suggestions, you really could not have picked a better game, even with Lil Nicky not stalking and sulking the sidelines. I would say this if you can fly in on thursday if you can swing it, and either do NOLA all day friday or part of the day. So in Baton Rouge, USS Kidd museum is incredible IMO, just simply because of the history of the ship. But in NOLA you also have the WWII museum which is a bucket list must see I believe for every American. NOLA gives you a ton of options that you can delve into. But as others have said, I would recommend for an Alabama game arriving for 10 or 11AM at the latest. Just walking around the campus, as others again have said, LSU has the greatest fans in all of college football. Do not hesitate to walk up to a tailgate and say hey this was our bucket list trip, never been just wanted to see what it was about. Every single member of the Tiger faithful will open up their tailgates. Part of our culture, so for that saturday, I wouldn’t even go to a restaurant because you will be fed. Also before every game LSU will put out the down to the minute times of everything that will be happening. Make as much as you can. If any of your crew are basketball or baseball fans check out the PMA max and Alex Box. See what the greatest university sports included has it always is pretty incredible whenever I show people some of that. Of course visit Mike the Tiger’s palace/habitat.
Lastly I actually just leave yourself a pretty wide open schedule, have 3 or 4 things you really want to do on gameday, and just roam. You will see countless “smaller” tailgates and see 30 liquor bottles for 8 or 9 people. So it really is in our nature, and in our blood to show you guys a good time. Welcome to a pantheon of concrete and steel, and the 7th largest stadium in the world. Where everybody where you are sitting will become your friend and family as we baptize Kaleb DeBoer in this rivalry.

If we are doing well, you will see Tiger Stadium and the whole game day experience at its best. The Tiger Stadium of legend does not live up to it as much as it used to, but for big games it still does. Yes, you picked the right one.
Walk up to almost any tailgate in and around the stadium, tell your story and you will be treated like kings. Get there early because it starts early.

By all means only come to a scheduled NIGHT game. You'll be wasting your "Buckett List" LSU trip if you come to a day game......

By all means, don't listen to this moron. You come to LSU Bama, regardless of the time.

Yep this poster is correct. If you can only come down for 1 one game…make sure it’s a night game so you get the full experience.
You’ll want a full day of tailgating before going in the game

none of us are really that diehard on any teams because we all went to colleges with terrible football programs HAHA. (

Damn, I owned a house near the intersection of 54th and Kenwood. We used to ride bikes along the canal behind Butler.

Jut because none of you are heavy drinkers anymore doesn’t mean that we won’t turn y’all back into one by kickoff time…

Mike's Habitat, Band and team coming down Victory Hill, Chimes on Highland. Stop by the tailgate at the Design Building (Krewe de Pirates) and let them know it’s your first and only LSU game.

There are two things at play here - the tailgating experience and the in stadium experience.
I would say the tailgating experience is one where you can more consistently count on a memorable one regardless of the opponent. The in stadium experience IMHO is much more dependent on the opponent.
If you want the in stadium experience of legend - Bama definitely gives you the best chance of that.
